Milestone
So that marks the end of our coverage from the 13th T20 match of CPL 2025 between St Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors. St Lucia Kings have kept their nerves and eventually emerged out victorious with 11 balls to spare and by 4 wickets. Chasing 203 was a taxing job but they did it easily.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Karthik Raj and the scorer/analyst of this match Raju Khariya. Have a good day.
David Wiese (St Lucia Kings Captain): "(Keys to winning) Ackeem Auguste to be honest, him and Tim Seifert the momentum they gave. It isn't easy chasing 200-plus but they set us up. The first 10 overs, we executed well and had where we wanted them to be. Thereafter, Sheppy (Romario Shepherd) did what he does best. Our guys didn't execute well and they will be disappointed about that. (On Oshane Thomas' 33-run over) Maybe, he was trying too much. He bowled well before that. We just have to go back, relax and come back with better plans.

(Whether Ackeem Auguste's knock was the turning point) Yeah, hundred percent. Without the impetus he gave us, we wouldn't have been in a position to chase this. The way he went about his business. He has been around for a while but he is still young. Was wonderful to see how he took responsibility and played. The fans have been fantastic and hopefully they come out again on Thursday night to give us that little bit of advantage."
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "I think we lost early wickets. That is one thing I can point out. The way Sheppie (Romario Shepherd) played, I can only congratulate him. I think we should've defended 202 but sometimes you need to give the credit to the opposition.

202 was a good score to be honest. I think if we didn't lose early wickets, we could have gone past 240.  Unfortunately we didn't bowl well. Look I think there was one side where wind was bowling. We didn't bowl in that. We were not good enough in today's match. There were dropped catches and misfields. There are a lot of areas to improve.

For me, every game is a big game. We do not take any team for granted. Looking forward to the next game in Trinidad."
Ackeem Auguste (Player of the Match): "It is a good feeling. Just want to thank god, thank the coaches for believing in me. It was a really good experience. Coach just asked me to keep it simple, back my ability. Just looked to play as freely as possible, enjoy. It has been good. There is good rapport amongst the guys. The turn-out has been great from the Kings' fans. My family was there and the other fans as well."
Ackeem Auguste has been named as the 'Player of the Match'.

8:02 AM IST and 10:32 PM Local Time | This is the first time in the history of CPL, Guyana Amazon Warriors have lost a match even after posting over 200 on the board in the first innings. St Lucia Kings have kept their momentum going and they have clinched the title. Ackeem Auguste, Tim Seifert, Tim David- all have shone in the middle and the Kings have won the game by 4 wickets.

Guyana Amazon Warriors' captain Imran Tahir surprisingly elected to bat first after winning the toss. His decision was proving to be right when Ben McDermott got some early boundaries. But Keon Gaston removed him and Kevlon Anderson in the same over and soon after, Moeen Ali got out for a bronze duck. Shimron Hetmyer suffered because of a misunderstanding with Hope. After that Hope and Iftikhar sustained a bit before Hope top edged one to mid-off off Oshane Thomas on 23 off 27 balls.

After that, it was Romario Shepherd show. Shepherd got off the mark with a maximum in his first ball and never looked back. He and Iftikhar took 33 runs off the 15th over bowled by Oshane Thomas. In the 17th over, Shepherd smashed Keon Gaston for 27 runs. He remained unbeaten on 73 off just 34 balls hitting 5 fours and 7 sixes on his way. He got some assistance from Iftikhar who scored 33 off 27 and Dwaine Pretorius remained unbeaten on 18 off 6 to take the team score past 200. GAW finished with 202/6 on the board.

Keon Gaston finished with 2/57. Oshane Thomas took the wicket of Hope but ended up conceding 63 runs from his 4 overs.  Khary Pierre and David Wiese also contributed with a wicket each.

St Lucia Kings came to chase the hefty target and Johnson Charles hit a maximum in the third ball of the innings. Later he added another boundary to his tally but edged one to Shai Hope off Jediah Blades on 13. But the pressure was thwarted back to the Warriors and Ackeem Auguste deserves the credit for it. He and Tim Seifert together took the chase going forward. Auguste played some classy looking strokes to add boundaries beside his name. His understanding with Seifert was good and that allowed them to snatch the short runs. They added 87 runs playing 47 balls together before Seifert found Iftikhar at wide long-off off Imran Tahir. Seifert got out for 37.

However, Auguste continued to score runs and got Roston Chase as his partner for a brief time. Chase got out for 12 and Tim David replaced him. Kings were in a spot of bother when Auguste found the deep cover fielder off Jediah Blades but he contributed 73 runs off 35 balls hitting 6 boundaries and 4 maximums before that. The asking rate was 9 at the time of his departure and Tim David-Aaron Jones duo ensured no further calamity happened. David hit it clean to score 25 off 15 balls and Aaron Jones got out for 16 off 12 balls. But Khary Pierre and David Wiese hit back-to-back boundaries to take their team home with 11 balls to spare.

For the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jediah Blades and Gudakesh Motie took a couple of wickets each. Dwaine Pretorius and Imran Tahir celebrated a solitary wicket each.
