7:30 AM IST & 10 PM Local Time: The two umpires are out in the middle once again. The ground staff are using a blower to fix the damp areas on the pitch. This doesn't look well. The two captains and players are shaking hands. The match has been abandoned without a ball being bowled. Both teams will share one point each. Not the start the defending champions would have wanted to their title defense but the umpires felt that the conditions were unsafe for players to take the field.
7:15 AM IST & 9:45 PM Local Time: The two umpires are now having a word with the two captains once again. The next inspection is scheduled for 10 PM Local Time (7:30 AM IST).
7:05 AM IST & 9:35 PM Local Time: The two umpires are out in the middle again and they straightaway go to check the pitch. Don't think they are still happy with the conditions to get the match underway.
6:40 AM IST & 9:10 PM Local Time: Another inspection is underway. The ground staff are using a roller and blower on the pitch to fix the areas of concerns for the match officials. The two umpires now turn their attention to the two captains and has a chat with Imad Wasim and David Wiese. There will be another inspection at 9:35 PM Local Time (7:05 AM IST).
6:32 AM IST & 9:02 PM Local Time: Imad Wasim walks out and has a look at the 22 yards.
06:15 AM IST, 08:45 PM Local Time: The next inspection will take place at 9:10 PM Local Time (6:40 AM IST). Let us hope for some good news at that time.
06:09 AM IST, 08:39 PM Local Time: Slightly good news as the rain has stopped and the side covers are being removed now. It might take some time for the grounds people to clear the wet conditions though.
6 AM IST & 8:30 PM Local Time: Nothing new to update. The covers are still on.
Keon Gaston and Delano Potgieter are making their CPL debuts tonight. Tabraiz Shamsi also gets a cap and will play his first game for the St Lucia Kings in CPL.
