Quetta Gladiators dish out a ruthless mauling the defending champions further consolidating their pole position on the points table. Meanwhile, Islamabad United's net run rate has taken a huge hit due to which they now find themselves at the third spot. Both teams have one game each remaining in the group stage.
Tomorrow, at the same venue, Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings face-off. Do join us for that match too. Our coverage begins at 7:30 PM IST (7:00 PM local time) For now, it is time for the quartet of Darpan Tikiya, Arjun Bhalla, Saptak Sanyal and Zeeshan Naiyer signing off. Goodbye!
Saud Shakeel (Quetta Gladiators Captain): "Honestly, I thought the team would get to 264 runs here, but I was confident it's a 200-run pitch. Even after the 10-over mark, we were in a great position, and that's when we aimed to notch a total upto 220-225. But the way Rilee Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz played, credit to them. You don't see two hundreds scored in a single innings that often.
As a batting group, you get a lot of boost after you get a performance like this. You said that we aren't getting big scores, but our batters were chipping in here and there. I always knew how many match-winners we have got, and everyone has the ability to change the game on its head on their given day. Everyone is high on confidence.
(On performance from the bowlers) Mohammad Amir has been giving starts with the new ball. He might not be taking wickets every time, but he does leave an impact in the powerplay overs. Today, there wasn't much for the bowlers, but still our bowlers bowled according to the plan and executed it to the fullest. Yeah, I am friends with Abrar Ahmed (laughs)."
Rilee Rossouw (Player of the Match): "I think my mindset was very positive. I wanted to come out and hit my shots. Haha! I just had sandwiches in lunch and breakfast.
My partnership with Hasan has been a great one. Left hand-right hand combination went well for us. We played our shots well. The thing is that our batters are getting their form back at the business end of the tournament."

Time for the post-match presentations.
Agha Salman (Islamabad United Captain): "We prefer chasing. On a good wicket, you want to chase. But they outplayed us tonight. I am saying this again that our changes happened majorly due to niggles. You can say we lost momentum there. T20 cricket is all about momentum. We just need to address what is going wrong. We need to forget this game because we have to play another game in two days time. We are surely missing Shadab. I am not sure if he will be available for the next match."
