Well that's it for today mates! Join us back tomorrow as we bring you the LIVE action from PSL 2025!
Until then, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my colleagues Saptak Sanyal, Ajay Pal Singh and Zeeshan Naiyer! See you on the next one!
Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi Captain): "I said it at the toss too that we need to win every match, there's no room for error. The bowling unit responded well and helped us dominate the powerplay.
When you look at the entire team's combination, it feels like a perfect one. Hussain and Mitch can bowl too but we try to rely on our top 5 or 6. The main thing is to execute our plans well and adapt to the conditions.
When we started the chase, wickets fell early and it put us under pressure but our plan was to build the game and play our normal game until the 10th over. Hussain played a fantastic knock and the way he read the situation was amazing."
Alzarri Joseph (Player of the Match):"My experience has been pretty good here so far. There's always a different challenge to play at different venues. I have played in three venues and every venue brings up a new challenge.
Yes there was a bit on offer for the new ball bowlers. It was nipping a bit and the pitch was slower. So it was tough to hit the shots."
Player of the Match: Alzarri Joseph
Super Power of the Match: Hussain Talat
Energetic Batter of the Match: Babar Azam
Catch of the Match: Abdul Samad
Moment of the Match: Luke Wood
Time for the post-match presentations.
Shaheen Afridi (Lahore Qalandars Captain): "[On opening with Asif Ali] Yes, we went with Asif. He has opened a lot in domestic cricket. He started at that position. We are trying that the image he has that he can only bat down the order, we can change that.
[On ultra aggressive approach] We were unlucky, guys tried but the luck wasn't at our side tonight. These things happen in cricket.
170-160 would have been a good total to defend on this surface."
