Fans at Eden Gardens were treated to an absolute thriller, and the home side walking away with two points was the cherry on top. Over 400 runs were scored, and in the end, it was KKR who held their nerve to win by the barest of margins, just one run. Rajasthan Royals once again failed to close out a comfortable chase, a recurring theme for them this season. With this win, KKR keep their playoff hopes alive.

When I have a bit of time to go, I don't worry about the dots. I knew I can make up for it. It was a difficult wicket to go out and start hitting. Happy to finish the innings, Rinku then hit those boundaries was good to watch.
I think scoreboard gives the best indication. Which bowlers to come, whom you can target. When you see 5 overs, you think 30 balls. If you face 15 out of that, with my power, you can get 40 from those 15 balls."

Ajinkya Rahane (KKR Captain): "Yeah, it was really close. Really happy with the win. When you win by 2 or 3 runs, it gives you a lot of confidence. Happy with how we started and then partnership between Angkrish and Russell.
I think, you want to go hard in the powerplay. We thought we can bat well in the middle phases, our batters can go after it. Russell was 2 off 9 but he got going after that. It wasn't easy but he did it. It wasn't easy, it was all about putting on partnerships.
[On sublime fielding] Absolutely, fielding is a factor you can control. If we can save 10-12 on the field, it is a bonus. If we take 1-2 brilliant catches, it would make the difference.
[On his own injury] I am happy that we won the match, so it is good."
