Phew! What a final-ball thriller we've just witnessed in Bengaluru! Two IPL heavyweights — RCB and CSK, locked horns in a classic, and it went right down to the wire! But once again, it was Yash Dayal who held his nerve under pressure and delivered the goods. With that, RCB have done the double over CSK for the first time in IPL history! RCB have also defended a score in back to back games at Home.
With this result, RCB climb up to the top of the points table with 16 points while CSK remain stranded at the bottom. Next up, we have a Super Sunday tomorrow. First, it's KKR vs RR at the iconic Eden Gardens, followed by PBKS vs LSG in the breathtaking setting of Dharamsala.
For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide, Ninaad Dixit & Ajay Pal Singh who, along with scorers/analysts Bishal Mandal & Chandan Kr Singh and statistician Aman brought all the updates of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋
Romario Shepherd (Player of the Match): "I had my opportunity today. I was waiting for it for a long time. That was on my mind to just give the team a good finish.
[Where does the power come from] My base and the way I swing. Even today I was able to hold my shape, look at the ball.
[On practicing big hits] When we failed earlier in the season, DK actually came in the nets and gave us some specific work. It paid off today for the team.
[On having a total in mind] I wasn't thinking of a score really. I was just thinking ball by ball and trying and hit each ball for 6 or 4. So that was my idea there and then. Timmy told me to relax and try to hit the ball from the middle of the bat, hold my base and I did exactly that.
[On seeing himself as batting or bowling allrounder] I try to keep it 50-50. Today it didn't came off with the ball. I continued to struggle with the ball. Today was a bad day with the ball but all in all the team did well. Yash Dayal, Bhuvi and Ngidi pulled us out of mud today."

Rajat Patidar (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Captain): "It was a tight game but credit goes to their batters but the way bowlers have shown their courage was tremendous. Of course, he is a main bowler of our team, he is a death over specialist. Last year, he did the same thing for us and this year, he did it again.
(on bowling spin in the 18th) I had confidence in Suyash. Till now, he has bowled well for us. That decision was 50-50 but I backed my bowler and he delivered.
(On Romario's innings) I think, that was not easy to go in and hit those big sixes straightaway. I am just enjoying his long sixes from the dugout.
(On Lungi coming in as replacement for Hazlewood) Lungi is a very experienced bowler. He has bowled a lot with the white-ball and I had faith in him.
(On being at the top of the table) I think as a team, it is a positive to be at the top. We are not aiming for qualification, we are aiming to do well in these last 3 games.
We will celebrate a little tonight, but big after the tournament."
