End of the road for the Men in Yellow and the fortress of Chepauk has crumbled once again! Chennai Super Kings suffer yet another home defeat, this time at the hands of a clinical Punjab Kings outfit, and with that, CSK become the first team to be eliminated from IPL 2025. A tough pill to swallow for the five-time champs, who never quite found their rhythm this season.

Meanwhile, it was a commanding all-round performance by PBKS. Skipper Shreyas Iyer stood tall with a proper captainโ€™s knock while Yuzvendra Chahal picked up his second IPL hat-trick, etching his name further into the history books!

With this win, Punjab Kings leap to 2nd on the table, and that odd point from the abandoned game at Eden Gardens might just prove to be gold dust in the playoff race. Tomorrow, itโ€™s the Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians in Jaipur. For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide & AkshayaKrishna Polya who, along with scorers/analysts Paras Yadav and Raju Khariya and statistician Aman brought all the updates of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE๐Ÿ‘‹
-This will be the first time that MS Dhoni will miss consecutive IPL finals

-This is also the first time that CSK will miss the IPL playoffs for two successive seasons

-This is the first time in IPL history that CSK have lost five games on the trot at Chepauk
Shreyas Iyer (Punjab Kings Captain and Player of the Match): "Absolutely. I love chasing on any ground. I thrive whenever there is a big total on the board, and you need to take the charge and momentum for the team so that the rest of the batters can come and go full throttle. I have tried to play on my instincts, backing myself, and that is it.

Haha. I don't want to curse it (away winning streak) at the moment. I am enjoying the process. I would just stay in the present and react to the ball. It doesn't matter where I am playing. I just play with my approach. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I know if I stay out there, I can chase down any target.

Lately, I have been batting a lot in the nets and facing the quick bowlers, especially with the new ball, and that's given me immense confidence. This is one part I have really worked on. I know the ball will skid on and come at a great pace. The attitude is something that I keep high whenever I approach the field. So, I think all these small boxes have been ticked and that's there to see.

More than batting, I will say the fielding was difficult as I had to run from long on to long on. We had to maintain over-rate, and I had to think on the nick of time. The humidity was more than in any other field I have played on.

We had a chat in between when Ricky (Ponting) came in and said we have to up the ante and not leave it to the end, as they have great death bowlers in Pathirana, Khaleel and they have immense experience in their squad. So, the approach was to just take on the bowlers with the power hitters coming down the order and to back ourselves.

When I got in, I said that I needed to play a few balls to see how the wicket was playing. When I played ten balls, I started going at the bowlers. Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya have been fabulous with the way they have been playing. They have been smart, not just slogging. They have shown their class. They are playing amazing cricket, and hopefully they continue with that same momentum. So, it was a plan that one would keep going at the bowlers, while the other gets out.

(About the points table) Just letting it happen."
