Virat Kohli (POTM): "Yeah, an important game for us. When you go from 8 to 10, two points make massive difference in terms of qualification. We have set ourselves up pretty nicely. We have played amazing cricket away from home. The mindset is to get 2 points for the team. There have been occasions where I feel I wanted to accelerate more and more but I feel if Salt doesn't get off to a start, my role changes.
I don't know why I have got this award. Dev created the difference in the innings. I utilised my experience to finish the game. I want to play that role where I can hold one end and accelerate if needed.
There is always a temptation to go with the same way. We have to understand with conditions. First 2 games we had learnings but then last game was a shortened one so we had to go hard.
I think when you come to a new place, you have to analyse and one good partnership is enough in T20 cricket. If need be, I can accelerate but for me it is about understanding the strengths of other players, allowing them to take the game away from the opposition, knowing I am holding one end.
Look firstly, a good auction for us. We got the team we wanted. Jitesh, Salty, Dev playing amazing roles for us. The addition of Romario has boosted our firepower in batting. That was missing in the last few seasons.
This season, it feels like if top order fails, you still have guys who can take the game on. I feel when you play like that, chances of winning become better."
