Delhi delivered a sensational contest that led to the first Super Over of the season! The Incredible Premier League is hitting peak form with thrillers in every game. Fans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium surely got their money’s worth in this edge-of-the-seat clash. Mitchell Starc was the game-changer—bowling the final over of the 20-over contest and then nailing the Super Over to seal it for Delhi Capitals. That’s exactly why DC invested big in him. What a match!

Phew! Time to catch our breath before the action shifts to the iconic Wankhede Stadium, where Mumbai Indians gear up to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad. Another cracker on the cards!

For now, it’s Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Ninaad Dixit, along with our scorers and analysts Paras Yadav and Manish Bishnoi and statistician Aman, brought all the updates of this clash. A special shoutout to Ajay Pal Singh for his behind-the-scenes efforts during that thrilling Super Over. Stay tuned for more action-packed cricket from around the globe! BYE BYE👋
TRIVIA: Delhi Capitals have now won four Super Overs in the IPL, going past Punjab Kings—who have won three—to become the most successful team in one-over shootouts in the league.
Mitchell Starc (Player of the Match): "It's just back your execution. If you're running with a clear plan and execute as best as you can, sometimes it does come off. A bit of luck goes along way. It was a fantastic game and we were on the right end of it.

[On variations in the final over] I've played long enough that everyone pretty much knows what I'm gonna do if I can execute more often than not. You play that over 10 more times and do 10 different things and it might be 10 different results. As I said, a bit of luck goes along way. Fortunately I executed well enough to get us to the Super Over and then we were on the right end of it.

[Super Over] I was probably surprised they had left handers with the ball tailing in my angle. Probably got too wrong there and stepped on the wide line a bit. I got away with a couple over there but we have the batting depth to chase the runs. Solid win in the end.

[Energy in the group] It's a good mix of youth and experience. Axar's leading the team really nicely. We have Faf and KL and Tristan who have been around long enough to help there. Lot of talent in the group as well. Having a lot of fun, success helps that. Tonight will certainly help the momentum. It's been a great group to be a part of so far and hopefully a lot more success."

Axar Patel (Delhi Capitals Captain): "With the way we got the start, we could have played with more intent. The batters were saying that batting wasn’t easy. I told them to keep the intent. We got the momentum and got a good score on the board.

The ball was sticking a bit. It was hard for the new batters to come in and score. It was relatively easy for the set batters but it wasn’t easy for the new batters to score quickly. I just told myself that the game will start in the middle overs. I took the Strategic Time Out for the same reason and spoke with everyone that it isn’t easy to hit boundaries. We had a chat and you can see the result.

When a new batter comes, he gets under pressure whether to score freely or take singles and doubles. The ball was sticking a bit.

This season, when I was playing the Champions Trophy, I got a cut on my fingers. You get the confidence when your team wins. But you feel of contributing to the team and you think that you have to lead by example. I bowled well and batted well and today it happened.

Obviously, I was thinking that if Mitchell Starc can execute, he will bring us back in the game. Obviously, he bowled 20th over and also the Super Over and nailed 12 yorkers. That’s the reason he is an Australian legend. That shows what mentality he has."
