Abhishek Sharma (Player of the Match): "I mean, it's not easy for any player—going through a rough patch in form and then suddenly trying to shift your mindset. But special credit to the team and the captain, because the atmosphere within the group was really positive and simple. The message to all the batters was clear and straightforward, even when things weren’t going our way. Deep down, I knew I had something in me to help us get back on the winning track.
If you’ve watched me closely, you’d know I rarely play anything behind the wicket. But I was still trying out a few shots because they had a pretty solid plan for us outside the off stump. So I wanted to be a bit inventive, and I think it worked—especially on this pitch. The bounce and the dimensions on one side made it easier, and I think that helped both of us.
I’ve been waiting for them—and so has the whole team. We were all looking forward to having my parents and family here because they’ve always been kind of a lucky charm for SRH and the Orange Army. We were just waiting for them to arrive and bless us with their presence—and here they are. Thank you so much for being here.
To be honest, we didn’t really talk about anything. It was just a natural instinct—we wanted to go out there and express ourselves right from the first ball. That’s what we’ve tried to do since the first game. And luckily, it was one of those days when everything clicked and everyone witnessed that great innings.
This one’s very special for me. I was thinking about how we had to break that losing streak. It wasn’t easy for any of us—losing four matches in a row is tough, especially as a player, as a youngster, and as a team. But the atmosphere in the camp was incredible. We never really spoke about the losses. We stayed positive and believed that it would just take one good innings, one special day, for things to turn around.
I think a special mention goes to Yuvi Paji (Yuvraj Singh) as well. I've been in touch with him, and I really appreciate his support. I also want to thank Mr. Suryakumar Yadav. He’s been in constant touch with me and has been there whenever I needed him. He knew this moment was coming soon, so a big thanks to him as well."

Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain): "Not to Australia please for Test matches. As a bowling group, we knew what we will get. It suits our style. As batters, they showed what they can do.
[On bowling at this surface] I think you don't have too many options. Slower balls won't work, the ball pings around here. You just try here and anything under 10 is a good over.
[On if he's ever seen a chase like that] I feel like they have done it a couple of times. It is kind of crazy that you are chasing almost 250. It was tremendous.
[On Abhishek Sharma's knock] I am a big fan of Abhi. Look we were happy with the training and everything. We didn't want to change too much. We just want to keep on doing what makes us a good player.
[Mid innings chat ] Not much, I think that is one of the strengths of our squad. Just over 12 or 13, it is fine we can do that.
[On crowd support] Yeah, they are amazing. Flags everywhere, packed house. The support has been awesome."
