KL Rahul (Player of the Match): "It's just how it's been. I'm quite used to it. Personally, I was preparing to play at the top of the order before I came here at the start of the IPL. I had a chat with the coach and he said he wanted me to bat at number 4. One of the senior pros didn't turn. I just had to take up the role. I was glad that I got the opportunity to play today at the top of the order.
It's mental. It's just pattern and process of getting in. Getting used to walking in. I have a few routines. Getting used to doing same thing. Since I'm going up and down the order, I take some balls to get set. That's the challenge of it. Whatever my routines are, I get through it and then, it's about the battle between the bat and the ball. I have been working on those of getting through those things.
I think I started really well. In between, I was a bit scratchy. I had a good partnership with Porel. Those quick 20-25 runs set up things nicely. If a batter gets a quick 20 runs in 7-8 balls, it takes pressure off me. I found boundaries in the powerplay but I took little bit of time in the middle overs and we lost wickets when I wanted to go. I wanted to keep hitting boundaries, with not taking too much of risks. I tried to target a few bowlers and the short boundaries and got lucky with it. I got cooked in the end. I think I left some 15-20 runs at the backend and will try to improve on that."
