The talk before this game was whether SRH could breach the 300-run mark. Both teams combined scored a total of 329 runs, which highlights how SRH struggled for the second successive game. Delhi Capitals bowled them out for 163, and their batters didn't give SRH bowlers a chance, completing the chase with 24 balls to spare.

Mitchell Starc (POTM): "Yeah, it has been a good day. Any time you win a game, it is always a good day. So yeah, I think with the ball, in the field and then with the bat as well, it was a fantastic performance.
I am not sure there's too many egos in bowlers in T20s these days. It is just that you hang on for life. I think as a bowler, you have to think outside the box, try and do things you normally wouldn't do. Nice to contribute and we try to move on from here.
I have played long enough to see what guys are trying to do. You try and think of different ways. I think even as an older player, you try and find new ways, new deliveries to get the batters out.
Yeah, obviously a new set of players. Spent only a year at Kolkata. It has been fantastic, once you get into a team, you try and form relationships with players. This is a talented group, we started well with some success. I look forward to see a lot from this pretty young group."

Axar Patel (Delhi Capitals Captain): "Thank you! As I said earlier to you (Murali Kartik), I am going to lead the side in the same manner. I don't make decisions without seeing the match situations. I do think and decide according to the situation. You have to be up for every match. All ten teams have come to play well.
Our focus was just on us and not on SRH. We know they play an aggressive brand of cricket. We need to focus on our plans and process. Today, we were successful in doing so.
Thought I'd bowl two of Starc in front, but he was in good rhythm. Hence, I gave him the third over and he was able to pick an important wicket. I knew SRH were attacking, so he was given the third over and that worked out.
Experience is beneficial; two to three players have led the franchise, too, and they give suggestions. I take what I want, but they're given a free hand. We have been playing at Kotla for many years, we'll have similar plans. We'll see how the conditions will be in Kotla and play accordingly."
