Charli Knott (Hero of the Match): "(About the last over) Definitely I was a bit nervous at the boundary. We were in the game but Grace pulled off a stunning last over.

It was tough for us in the middle. I tried to sweep the balls and the wicket was holding a bit. When batting became easier I played my shots. We knew that we were in the game from the start. All round team effort. Everyone chipped in. Grace deserves the credit for the clutch last over.

When you pull off a victory from such a close game, you get a lot of confidence."

21.45 IST, 15.15 Local Time: What a thriller! Nerves, drama, and edge-of-the-seat action! London Spirit Women defeat Welsh Fire Women in a last-ball finish. They win by 2 runs to seal a memorable victory.

In the first innings, London Spirit Women were bowled out for 124 in 99 balls. Charli Knott top-scored with an impressive 47 off 33 balls, while Kira Meghan Chathli added 19 and Grace Harris contributed 18. The rest of the batting lineup struggled against disciplined Welsh Fire bowling.

Freya Davies led the attack brilliantly with 3 wickets for just 16 runs, while Katie Levick also struck crucial blows, taking 3/26. Hayley Matthews was equally effective, claiming 2/15, and Jess Jonassen chipped in with a wicket.

Chasing 125 for victory, Welsh Fire Women got off to a steady start in the second innings. Sophia Dunkley anchored the top order with a composed 36 off 29 balls, while Hayley Matthews provided early momentum with 26 from 24 deliveries. The pair added 37 for the opening wicket before Matthews fell to Isabelle Wong.

Tammy Beaumont’s brief stay ended at 11, and despite Dunkley’s resilience, the pressure of the chase began to build. Jess Jonassen kept the Fire in the hunt with 29 from 24 balls, but her run-out in the penultimate over proved a turning point.

Georgia Elwiss tried to push for the win but perished for 9, leaving the equation tight in the final moments. Ultimately, the disciplined bowling of London Spirit, led by Eva Gray, Wong, Harris, and Knott, restricted Welsh Fire to 122/5 in their 100 balls, sealing a thrilling 2-run victory in a nail-biting finish.

Stay tuned for the post match presentations!

W GRACE HARRIS!! YOU BEAUTY!! YOU BEAUTY!! Just imagine coming to bowl your first set when you have to defend 7 off the final 5 balls and you are not a specialized bowler. What a tremendous pressure Grace Harris was in! She reduced it to 3 off 1. Then bowls a slower delivery on length at the leg and middle stump. Elwiss moves leg side for room and swings her bat. She mistimes but it was going to land in the vacant land of mid-on. Charlie Dean runs back from mid wicket and slides to complete the catch. An excellent catch from the skipper and a fruitful death set from the experienced Harris has helped London Spirit Women to snatch the game from the jaws of defeat. They are coming out with flying colours and the margin is just 2 runs!!
Three runs needed off the last ball — it’s all come down to this!
