Harry Brook (Player of the Match and Northern Superchargers Captain): "Very nice win, the boys played beautifully. To get near 200 on that pitch was a great effort. Our team is not the one to search for scores. We try to assess the pitch early and communicate off the field. Not easy to bowl here. The outfield is pretty quick but the bowlers did well."

9:48 PM IST and 5:18 PM Local Time: A run feast at Headingley ends in favour of Northern Superchargers as they thump Oval Invincibles by 16 runs, stopping the visitors' three-match winning streak! The Harry Brook-led side gets to 20 points and is level with the two-time champions, but is currently second due to its net run rate.
Earlier in the game, the Invincibles won the toss and opted to bowl first. Zak Crawley went berserk with a few glamorous strokes, alongside Dawid Malan as the two openers gave the Superchargers a flying start, adding 76 for the first wicket before the former was taken care of by Nathan Sowter for a score of 25-ball 49. Daniel Lawrence failed to keep the momentum going, and soon Malan fell after getting into the 30s.
Skipper Brook (56 off 27) played a brilliant knock and led his side from the front, stitching a 76-run fourth-wicket partnership with David Miller, who came to the party later in the innings and smashed a riveting 37* off just 16 balls to propel the hosts to a massive 198/4 in 100 balls.
Despite having a strong bowling line-up, Oval failed to stop the aggressive Superchargers' batting line-up. Rashid Khan's absence hit the visitors hard, to be honest.
Will Jacks (25 off 11) set the chase off to a flyer. Tawanda Muyeye (24 off 21) tried to keep going after a struggling start. Jordan Cox (24 off 16) and Sam Curran (30 off 19) tried to continue from where they left off in the last game. Sam Billings (13 off 11) didn't have a great time at the crease when Oval needed him the most. Donovan Ferreira (41 off 15) slammed a few big hits down the order and tried to pull off a heist, but once he fell in the 18th set, Oval Invincibles didn't have much firepower to do the unthinkable.
Tom Lawes (2/22) and Jacob Duffy (2/39) were the pick of the bowlers as the two pacers struck at the right times. Adil Rashid and Matthew Potts bowled good spells, while Samit Patel took a real hammering as he leaked 53 runs in his 4 sets, making his return to the format with an unforgettable game. Oval Invincibles had every batter getting the starts, but no one converted them into impactful knocks. Eventually, they could only reach 182/7 in 100 balls as they succumbed to their second defeat of the season.
Clark rushes back for the second. A good throw from the deep and Pepper removes the bails. TV umpire replays confirm that Clark was short of his ground. OUT.
