Manchester Originals have received another thrashing. Their star-studded batting line-up once again failed to leave a mark. Meanwhile, Trent Rockets continue to look like a well-oiled machine and would now be in the running to grab the top spot and thereby earn a direct ticket to the final.

The race to the knockouts will heat up further in the coming days. And Team CREX will be here to ensure that you don't miss a beat.

We hope you enjoyed the coverage of this match as much as we did bringing it to you. Time for the troika of Darpan Tikiya, Anirudh Modi and Paras Yadav to sign off. Sayonara!
David Willey (Player of the Match): "To get those early poles on a challenging pitch was great and it set up the rest of the guys to come in and do their job. I tried to use my change ups and tried to get early wickets, these guys are top heavy.

We have had a great group and it feels like we have played together a lot before. We feel like a real unit and there's a top of the table clash, a good game to watch for on Thursday. He is a tricky one to bowl to and when he comes out and plays like that, he can be a handful for the opponents."

1:24 AM IST, 8:54 PM local timeTrent Rockets have mauled their guests in Nottingham tonight and with this, they might have also effectively knocked Manchester Originals out of the race to play-offs. There is a small mathematical chance, but a lot has to go right for Salt and co. for that to materialise.

The tone was set early by the skipper. David Willey's outstanding 20-ball spell, that returned 3/11, pinned the visitors on the mat early. His preys were Jos Buttler, Ben McKinney and Rachin Ravindra. Then, the spinners took over. On a wicket that had some turn on offer, George Linde and Rehan Ahmed combined to return 2/27 off 40 balls.

None of the Originals' main batters could get going. Captain Salt did bat through the first half of the innings, but could only garner a sketchy 19. It was due to some ambitious slogs by Lewis Gregory towards the fag end that the Rockets finished with a score that had just a semblance of respectability.

It was never going to be enough, but the wickets of Joe Root and Tom Banton in the powerplay, gave the visitors a ray of hope. Salt's screamer of a catch to dismiss Holden gave their fans something more to cheer about. But with only 98 runs scored in the first innings, forging a defence was always going to be difficult.

Rehan Ahmed's sprightly 45* and Tom Moores confident-looking 22* took the Rockets home with 26 balls to spare.

4 FOUR! 100 comes up for Trent Rockets and so does the victory! Rehan Ahmed finishes it off in style and seals a dominant win for his team! Length delivery, on the off stump, backs away and slaps it over the extra cover infield to pick up the winning points with a boundary!
