Michael Bracewell (Player of the Match): "Bit more of a complete performance today. We played some really good cricket today, great to get a win. We spoke as a unit to bowl into the wicket. It is fantastic. The crowds here are amazing. We have got great home support which certainly helps. There is a long history of cricket in England. Great to be playing here. (On the weather and conditions) Not what I was expecting when I came but I will certainly take it (smiles)."
Michael Bracewell has been named as the 'Player of the Match'.
9:25 PM IST and 4:55 PM Local Time: Another clinical all-round performance from Southern Brave gives them their second straight win to begin the new season with some swag! After a collective bowling effort to restrict Birmingham Phoenix to the lowest total at this venue in the tournament, the Brave's top order eases through to the target with 9 wickets and 19 balls in hand as the home side completes a double over the Phoenix, winning both women's and men's fixtures.
Earlier in the game, James Vince won the toss and decided to bowl first. Craig Overton and Jofra Archer bowled superbly in the powerplay to keep Ben Duckett and Will Smeed on their toes. Chris Jordan ended Duckett's stay at the crease on his first ball of the game, and the Phoenix lost way yet again. They lost their top order in a quick time for the second time in a row. Joe Clarke and Liam Livingstone tried to rebuild, but Archer came back to take care of the latter. Clarke was the lone warrior for the visitors and top scored with a 27-ball 36.
Southern Brave bowled well in all phases and restricted the touring party to just 106/7 in 100 balls. Bracewell was the pick of the bowlers, bagging a three-wicket haul, while Archer bagged a couple of scalps. Jordan and James Coles picked up a wicket each, while Overton and Tymal Mills remained wicketless but were economical.
Chasing 107 was an ideal scenario for the Brave openers - Leus du Plooy and Vince - as they milked runs with ease, adding 75 runs for the opening wicket. Vince was given a life during his classy knock of 41 from 30 balls, but Benny Howell, who bowled well amidst Phoenix's lacklustre outing, got rid of the Hampshire lad. It didn't change much for the hosts as du Plooy (48* off 39) and Jason Roy (18* off 12) saw them home in the 81st ball.

4 THAT IS IT! LEUS DU PLOOY FINISHES IT OFF IN STYLE! Short and angling in from around the wicket, du Plooy comes down the wicket and pulls it past mid-on for a boundary. So, the Brave seal a nine-wicket victory with 19 balls to spare. Back-to-back wins for Brave to start the competition.
Brave need just 2 to win with 20 balls remaining. Southee to bowl now.
