That marks the end of our coverage from the International Masters League 2025. The Master Blaster-led India Masters have won the title by defeating West Indies Masters by 6 wickets in the grand finale to clinch the inaugural title.
For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash, who brought the live actions to you in the first innings. A huge shoutout to our eminent scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar Singh for being perfect with his scoring duties. Good night!
Sachin Tendulkar now collects the trophy. The India Masters players have come to join him in the podium. Celebrations go off. The players and the team members are posing for a photograph now.
Sachin Tendulkar (India Masters Captain):"Yes this makes me happy. We were quite chilled out. We wanted to play our game. I told them to produce the same brand of cricket. It was the last game and we wanted to give our best shot.
Number of individuals came together. We go up as a team, come down as a team. Guys put their hands up and contributed. Nadeem bowled well. Rayudu batted well. Yuvi batted well. Binny, Mann and everyone. I might miss a few names. The finish of the first innings was quite high. The team morale was good.
The standard of playing was good. Players had few injuries, I had a few niggles here and there. But it is really good to comeback to the dressing room. I still remember the first practice session at D.Y. Patil stadium. That's where we thought of coming here and lift the trophy on 16th. We have had a lot of fun memories. We celebrated Holi a couple of days ago.
A big thanks to the crowd. Those good wishes mean a lot to me. I was discussing with a couple of players in the dug-out. The crowd support was no less than any international match!"
Indian team players are collecting their champions medal from Om Prakash Chowdhury, the Finance Minister of Chhattisgarh now.
Brian Lara (West Indies Masters Captain):"I think we didn't get to the competitive score. We were 30-40 runs short. The Indian bowlers were way to effective and disciplined in their line and length.
It is always special to comeback to the ground. The guys were committed to the level of cricket. We are looking forward to the second season. It's a great tournament, well organized. 35-40000 people came to watch the final. That's a great thing."
West Indies Masters team players are coming one by one to collect the medals from Sunil Gavaskar, the league commissioner of IML 2025.
