That's it from our coverage of match number 12 in the Women's Premier League. A comprehensive win for the Gujarat Giants against the defending champions. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more action from around the world.
Ashleigh Gardner (Player of the Match & Gujarat Giants Captain): "Over the last couple of games we haven't batted the way we wanted to. Credit goes to the bowlers tonight. They did a tremendous job, in particular TK, Kashvee - really leading from the front and it's awesome to see different players to step up at different times. Being able to chase a low total like that gives you a little bit of freedom to play some shots and get into your innings.
That first game against RCB we probably should have won. It was really disappointing that we couldn't defend 200 but that's cricket. People can outplay you and that's fine. Tonight it was really pleasing to be able to win and to quieten the crowd which I think most people want to do when they come to Chinnaswamy is to make the RCB fans quiet. It was really nice to be able to get a win and hope to have some positivity back in the camp.
Batting second is the trend of WPL at the moment. It's nice not having too much dew. The wicket has shown it has enough in it. Against DC, it had a lot of seam movement, the wicket was very green. Quite a challenging wicket to bat on. Being able to adapt quickly to that. Tonight it was flat with not much turn. I am not sure how the wickets are going to be there in the coming games.
We spoke as a group to get better in the powerplay while batting. We just lost 1 wicket today. It proved pivotal. In the last 2 games we lost 4 wickets in the powerplay. We can take a lot of positivity. Each game is a new game. Bowlers have done a fantastic job. Hopefully we can train towards that direction and get some more wins."

Phoebe Litchfield (Gujarat Giants Women): "We came in today with positivity after having 2 average performances. We wanted to come out with a bang. The way our bowlers bowled was amazing and then to finish off pretty clean and clear there was awesome.
We lost wickets in the past and it was good not to be on the receiving end. The bowlers bowled well to apply the pressure.
Ash did an amazing job to get the required rate down with that big over. It allowed me to come in and play freely and risk free. We were being positive and when the bad ball would come we would put it away. One partnership there would win us the game.
[On the dropped catch resulting in a run out] It went up to that massive light out there but I managed to put the stumps down. Ashleigh was pretty embarrassed.
We needed a win to stay in it. We will grab some momentum today and keep moving forward."
Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women Captain): "We didn’t bat well in the powerplay, trying a bit too hard early on and losing our way. It was a different kind of wicket today. Since arriving here, we’ve played some really good cricket but haven’t managed to get the results. However, today, we were outplayed in all three departments. Now, we need to lift ourselves up—everyone must step up and come back stronger. Kanika Ahuja and Raghvi have been impressive, getting us to a respectable total, but we all need to start contributing."
