That's all we have for the coverage of the Match no.1 of the WPL 2025 between Gujarat Giants Women and Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women.
This is me, Aditya Agarwal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Raghava, along-side scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for the cricketing action across the globe. BYE, CHEERS.
Richa Ghosh (POTM) : " The plan was to take time and take the game deep. I tried to play my natural game. I think I have prepared well for the tournament. We had proper match situations planned in our training sessions. I had no particular plan to target the shorter side. I just wanted to react on the ball and play on it's merit.
We always had the belief in us to chase down the target."
Player of the Match - Richa Ghosh
Smriti Mandhana (RCB Women Captain): "Yeah, I am happy that we are on the winning side. Yeah, I think it is brilliant to watch. They have been doing this to all our bowlers in the nets. We knew with dew coming in, it will be hard to bowl. Really happy that things clicked, we always knew we were in the game.
We lost top three wicket takers from last year. We had a good auction. The replacement players were brilliant. A lot of things to work on as a bowling effort. We have two days off now to work on these things."
Catch of the Match: Laura Wolvaardt
Super Sixes of the Match: Ashleigh Gardner (8 Sixes)
Super Striker of the Match: Richa Ghosh (Strike Rate of 237)
