So that marks the end of our coverage from the 3rd and final WT20I of the three-match series between West Indies Women and Bangladesh Women. West Indies Women completed the whitewash by winning the final WT20I of the series by 5 wickets.
For now, this Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Anirudh Modi and our scorer/analyst Vishnu Verma. Have a good day!
Karishma Ramharack and Hayley Matthews collect the winner's trophy and the celebrations can begin!
Karishma Ramharack (West Indies Women Captain):"When your team backs you as a captain, it becomes easy for you. For me, it was a certain pleasure to lead the West Indies team.
My challenge was to set the fielders but the bowlers did it really well by bowling tight lines and made the things easy for me. The way Gajnabi, Glasgow and a young Zaida James performed was a treat to watch."
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Captain): "On this sort of wicket, you cannot defend a low total but our bowlers did well to make this a fighting contest. There was a lack of intent in our batting and we need to work on that, it's not appropriate for the T20 format.
Sometimes when you get runs but the team is not winning, it's not very pleasant. It's better that the team wins and my contribution is small but I try to do my best for my team. The way she bowled with and against the wind, it was excellent, it's good for her and the team.
We will be reflecting on our performance and many other things. We need to be consistent with the bat and more accurate with the ball."
Deandra Dottin (Player of the Series):"Pretty good to get some runs on the board. Happy to contribute.
I think the young players responded well. They stepped up at the right time and played good part in the victory. I tried to hit the ball straight but the ball didn't come as I expected and I got out.
(On being the 2nd West Indies Women batter to score 3000 runs in WT20I) Yes it is a remarkable achievement. I said that it is always good to get runs."
Player of the Series: Deandra Dottin
Jannillea Glasgow (Player of the Match): "I am very proud of myself and I thank God. This is something I wanted to do and it's nice to contribute. When I got the news that I was batting at no. 3, I was excited and just wanted to do my best out there.
The yorker is something I've been working on and it came out well in this match. I used to enjoy bowling more, but now I enjoy batting more, I like to go after the bowlers. Our top order has been doing the job through the tournament and it has made things easier for the middle order. They have been excellent."
