That brings an end to this South Group clash in the T20 Blast 2025. Hampshire have registered a dominant 62-run victory over Sussex — their second-biggest win against them in T20 history. A complete performance from the Hawks, who outplayed their opponents in all departments tonight.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Arijit Kundu & Gaurav Samal who, along with scorer/analyst Paras Yadav brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋

2:18 AM IST & 9:48 PM Local Time: That's the end of this fixture! Hampshire cruise to a dominant 62-run win over Sussex. A clinical performance with the ball after posting a strong total.

After being sent in to bat, Hampshire got off to a dream start, thanks to a blistering opening stand between James Vince and debutant Chris Lynn. The duo tore into the Sussex attack during the powerplay, racking up 64 runs in the first six overs, setting the tone for a high-scoring affair. Lynn, known for his brute force, lived up to his reputation, smashing 51 off just 27 balls on debut. His innings featured towering sixes and crisp boundaries before he was dismissed by a one-handed stunner from Harrison Ward in the ninth over.

Hampshire’s innings was anchored by a solid 84-run opening stand, providing the ideal foundation. However, once that was broken, the momentum dipped as wickets fell at regular intervals. The middle order couldn’t fully cash in, but timely cameos from Hilton Cartwright (24 off 15), James Fuller (15 off 11), and a steady unbeaten 25 from Benny Howell helped push the total past the psychological 190 mark. Hampshire eventually closed their innings at a competitive 196/8 in 20 overs.

In response, Sussex struggled to get any momentum in the chase, losing wickets at regular intervals. Hampshire were clinical with the ball and sharp in the field, with skipper James Vince leading from the front in terms of tactics and energy. At one point, Sussex slumped to 67/6, and though Nathan McAndrew tried to steady the ship with a fighting unbeaten 31 off 18 balls, he ran out of partners. Sussex were eventually bundled out for 134 in 16.5 overs, handing Hampshire a comprehensive win by 62 runs.

W GONEEE!! That's the end of the game! Baker picks up his 2nd wicket of the match. Full toss around off. Crocombe backs away for room. Drives it uppishly from the toe end of his blade. Dawson at extra cover, grabs a simple catch. Hampshire win by 62 runs!
