After a long wait, the defending champions have finally registered their first win of the season. They would hope that this finally gets their season back on track. Meanwhile, Kent's campaign continues to be marred by inconsistency.
Both play another game in about 48 hours time. Perhaps, that is why they call it "The Blast"! The games come thick and fast. And Team CREX is here to ensure that you don't miss a beat.
It was the troika of Darpan Tikiya, Anirudh Modi and Yogesh Kumar that brought you the live coverage of this match. We hope you enjoyed it. Until next time, goodbye! 👋
Jack Taylor (Gloucestershire Captain): "It's been a long time coming, so it's nice to get over the hurdle! We were sharp in our execution, something we have been asking the guys for the entire week and it came off today.
We would have taken 180-190 but restricting them to 160 was there. We weren't going to give it away at the backend, we wanted it too much."
Sam Billings (Kent Captain): "We were 10-15 runs short there, lost a few wickets towards the end and it hurt us. We've had some brilliant results but it's mostly due to individual performances. We learn a lot from tonight. We have played some good cricket but it's about the collective now coming together to win matches."
Ajeet Dale (Player of the Match): "Delighted to be out there, we were waiting for the first win and it happened today. We were trying to keep it simple, not going to my variations too much and keeping it straight.
The foot marks were crumbling and I fell in due to the adrenaline but I worked on it during the week and it's better now."

1:54 AM IST, 9:24 PM local time: Gloucestershire chase the target down with 10 balls to spare and notch-up their first T20 win of 2025.
Right now, Gloucestershire fans will feel the same as a traveller wading through an endless desert does after discovering an oasis. They are the defending champions. However, they had been starving for a win this season.
Not anymore. They have defeated Kent comprehensively and it is almost fitting that the skipper, who complied solid half-century, hit the winning runs.
He came out to bat when things were pretty even-stevens. Gloucestershire had lost 3 wickets in 3 successive overs in the middle of the innings and were not even halfway through the target. But then, Jack Taylor's experience and Oliver Price's steely composure came together. The duo stitched a 98-run partnership and took the team over the line.
Though, to be fair, the win was set up by the bowlers. In the first innings, Kent were 118/2 at the end of the 15th over. From there, they should have probably got at least 20 more than what they eventually did. The ploy to deliver cutters into the wicket, which did appear to be a bit two-paced, worked well as the hosts returned a dreadful 39/7 off the final quarter.
That sort of sums up how Kent's evening was overall. A number of their batters got starts — howsoever tentative some of them might have been — but none went onto make a big score. Ajeet Singh Dale starred for the visitors and ended up with figures of 3/24 off his four overs.
A special mention to the catching that was put on display by both teams today. We saw multiple grabs that might be doing the rounds over social media for the entirety of the summer. Miles Hammond's bunny hop catch to dismiss Kent's top-scorer of the match was probably the best of the lot.
