It was a dominant outing for the Leicestershire Foxes as they registered a comprehensive 6-wicket win over the Worcestershire Rapids, chasing down 151 in just 17.1 overs.
Earlier in the evening, Worcestershire opted to bat first but never really got going. They lost both openers early and struggled to form any meaningful partnerships. Gareth Roderick was the lone standout with a fluent 49 off 29, while Adam Hose added 25, but the rest of the batting lineup faltered. The Rapids were eventually restricted to 150/8, thanks to an excellent bowling performance from Leicestershire. Ben Mike was superb with the ball, finishing with 3/14, while Liam Trevaskis chipped in with 2 wickets.
In response, the Foxes approached the chase with calm confidence. Openers Rishi Patel (26) and Sol Budinger (30) gave them a strong start. The middle order kept the momentum going with useful contributions from Shan Masood (26) and Rehan Ahmed (25). Louis Kimber added the finishing touches with a composed 26 not out*, guiding Leicestershire home with 17 balls to spare.
With the ball, Worcestershire lacked the firepower to defend the below-par total. While Ben Dwarshuis and Matthew Waite picked up a wicket each, they were unable to put enough pressure on the Leicestershire batters.
A clinical all-round performance sees Leicestershire Foxes continue their strong form, while Worcestershire Rapids will look to bounce back in their upcoming games.
