William Smale (POTM): "Just want to build on the experience we have. It really benefits us. Rode my luck a few times but it was a pretty good wicket and short boundaries help too. I just targeted a few bowlers and it paid off.
Just had a good game plan against their spinners. Happy with how it went.
Yeah, the bowlers did well. We got 220 but it was a fantastic effort on that pitch to restrict them to that score. We have a few big games coming up, really looking forward to it now."

1:56 AM IST, 9:26 PM Local Time | Luc Benkenstein becomes the last one to fall as he departs on 62. However, his efforts go in vain as Glamorgan beat Essex by 40 runs.
The target for Essex for always going to be a tall one. And, for making things worse, they lost three wickets inside the powerplay. However, Jordan Cox and Paul Walter joined hands in the middle with their 50-run stand for the fourth wicket.
But, Cox's dismissal initiated another collapse for Essex. Suddenly, they were reduced to 129/7 from being at 87/3 at one stage.
Then came Luc Benkenstein to the rescue. He slammed a breathtaking 62 off 32 balls, but his efforts could only reduce Essex's losing margin.
Earlier in the evening, William Smale set up the stage for Glamorgan with his 65. He was well supported by Colin Ingram (39), Daniel Douthwaite (30*) and Chris Cooke (21). As a result, they posted a massive total of 220/6 - their highest score of the innings.
W IN THE AIR & TAKEN!!!! Essex lose yet another game. Glamorgan hammer them by 40 runs. Full and wide outside off. Takes the pace off. Benkenstein throws the kitchen sink at that and again gets an outside edge. Ingram backtracks at short third and takes a good catch.
19.4 A Gorvin to L Benkenstein
0 Fuller length around off. Benkenstein looks to hoick it in the leg side but misses and wears it high on the pads.
