1:45 AM IST & 9:15 PM Local Time: That’s the game! Lancashire’s winning streak comes to an end after three consecutive victories, as they suffer their first loss in the T20 Blast 2025. Leicestershire Foxes put on a clinical performance to chase down the target with ease, sealing a convincing 5-wicket win with 9 balls remaining.

Lancashire captain Keaton Jennings won the toss and opted to bat first. Despite a quick start, both openers were dismissed inside the Powerplay, and Leicestershire kept chipping away with regular wickets.

The introduction of spin after the Powerplay turned the tide, as Rehan Ahmed and Liam Trevaskis bowled superbly to stifle the scoring. Lancashire slumped to 88/5 before Chris Green’s late resilience helped revive the innings. He added an unbeaten 31-run stand with Thomas Aspinwall to push the total to 145/7. Rehan Ahmed starred with 3/16, while Trevaskis chipped in with 2/17 on a sluggish pitch.

In response, Leicestershire had a shaky start, losing both openers early for single-digit scores. However, skipper Louis Kimber steadied the ship and counter-attacked brilliantly, taking the game to the opposition. He played a fluent knock of 40 from just 22 deliveries before falling to Tom Hartley in the 8th over, just when he looked set for a big one.

Rehan Ahmed and Ben Cox came together at a critical stage and stitched a vital 59-run partnership for the fifth wicket, bringing stability to the Leicestershire chase. With the required rate well under control, the visitors never looked under pressure, while Lancashire were desperate for a breakthrough to get back into the game.

Rehan Ahmed’s solid knock of 27 from 23 deliveries came to an end when Charlie Barnard knocked him over. But despite the dismissal, Leicestershire remained calm and composed. Ben Cox (38* off 38) and Liam Trevaskis (22* off 11) joined forces to put together a crucial, unbeaten 27-run partnership off just 19 balls for the sixth wicket. Their composed finish sealed the deal, guiding the visitors to a convincing 5-wicket win over Lancashire Lightning.

18.3 T Hartley to L Trevaskis
4 FOURR MOREE!! Trevaskis finishes things off with a boundary as Lancashire face their first defeat of the season! Full outside off. Trevaskis sweeps it from the toe end of his blade. The ball just clears the fielder at mid-on. Bohannon runs backwards, the ball stops in the surface. Deflects off Bohannon's right leg and towards the long-on fence for a boundary. Leicestershire win by 5 wickets!
18.2 T Hartley to L Trevaskis
4 FOURRR!! Scores are level now! Full around off, spins back in. Trevaskis makes room for himself and heaves it away between the gap of deep mid wicket and long on for a boundary.
18.1 T Hartley to L Trevaskis
2b Around the wicket. Full outside off, angling across the batter. Trevaskis gets down on one knee and looks to play the slog sweep. Misses it completely. The keeper misses it too. Runs away towards the third man fence for a couple of runs. BYES!
Down to single digits now as Leicestershire need 7 runs off 12 balls. Tom Hartley will bowl the penultimate over of the bowler.
