2:02 am IST, 9:32 pm Local Time I So Surrey have prevailed in a thriller here against Glamorgan in a game that was majorly dominated by the bowlers, with Jason Roy playing a lovely knock for the victors as well. It's time for me, Sourya Chowdhury, to sign off with my fellow commentator Aditya Agarwal, and our scorer Paras Yadav. Good night.
02:00AM IST and 09:30PM Local Time | Surrey hold their nerves and win a thriller of a contest as they beat Glamorgan by a margin of 7 runs.
Here’s a review of what happened in the match.
Earlier, Surrey were restricted to a below par score of 149/8 on the back of Andy Gorvin and Daniel Douthwaite’s outstanding bowling as they picked up 5 wickets among them.
Jason Roy was the lone warrior for his team as he made 69 runs off 47 balls.
Chasing 150, Kiran Carlson and William Smale got their team to a commanding start as the duo added 58 runs for the first wicket.
Glamorgan were cruising along the game as they were 73-1 at one stage. However, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and suffered a major collapse by being 114-7.
They never really recovered from it and in the end lost the match by a margin of 7 runs.
Sam Curran and Chris Jordan bowled beautifully for their team and bagged 3 wickets apiece.
W OUT! It's over. Curran bowls fast short one on middle seaming away and Crane goes for the big hit but edges it to the keeper and is caught behind. A great bowling performance by Surrey gives them a 7-run win.
19.5 T Curran to M Crane
2 Slow length ball on off, Crane thumps it wide of long on but it is only two. Not the boundary they needed.
19.4 T Curran to A Gorvin
1 Slow length ball outside off, Gorvin can only tap it down to sweeper cover. 10 off 2 left. Boundary is essential in the next ball.
19.3 T Curran to M Crane
1 Angled in, pace on on middle, cramps the batter, who strokes it off side past cover. Only one. 11 off 3 required.
