That's all from this contest, folks! Deepak Prakash here signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Suresh Kumawat. CHEERS!
10:58 PM IST, 6:28 PM Local Time: Glamorgan start their campaign on a high note as they drub Middlesex by 5 wickets and 27 balls to spare.
Earlier, after opting to bat first, Stephen Eskinazi (14) and Kane Williamson (25) struggled to score briskly in the powerplay. Williamson found his rhythm as the innings progressed, but failed to convert his start into a good score. Middlesex lost wickets in clusters after the powerplay and were reeling at 65/4. Leus du Plooy (18) and Ryan Higgins (21) steadied the ship for a while, but Mason Crane (4/28) wreaked havoc with the ball and removed 4 wickets in quick succession. Middlesex struggled to accelerate in the death overs, failing to hit a single boundary in the last four overs and managing only 124/9 in their 20 overs. In response to a paltry score, Glamorgan got off to a shaky start and lost Kiran Carlson (16), William Smale (6), Ben Kellaway (14), and Colin Ingram (3) in the powerplay. Chris Cooke (16) kept the scoreboard ticking at a decent pace, but his innings was cut short by Tom Helm (3/16), leaving Glamorgan five down for 64 inside 10 overs. However, Asa Tribe (40*) and Daniel Douthwaite (31*) steadied the innings with an unbeaten 50-plus stand for the sixth wicket, guiding their side to victory without any further hiccups.
