A game that was headlined by two Jimmys. First, Anderson from Lancashire, who played a T20 after 3,935 days and returned spectacular figures of 3/17. The second, Neesham of Durham, who performed in all three departments, but could not put his team over the line. In the end, it went down to final ball. So we reckon, cricket was the real winner.

We hope you enjoyed as much as Team Crex did bringing it to you. It is time for the troika of Darpan Tikiya, Sachin Yadav and Deepak Prakash to sign off. Join us on Tuesday, for the next game of the tournament, when Glamorgan take on Surrey. Goodbye for now!
12:23 PM IST, 7:53 PM Local Time: Lancashire clinch a last-ball thriller to extend their winning streak to three matches in the ongoing T20 Blast.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Durham lost wickets at regular intervals and were 4 down for 71 runs in the 11th over. Ben Raine (29) and Neesham (40*) scored at a decent pace in the second half of the innings and put things back on track for Durham, while Will Rhodes’s unbeaten 18-run cameo propelled Durham to 150/6 in 20 overs.

James Anderson, returning to T20 cricket after 11 years, shone with the ball for Lancashire, claiming 3 wickets for just 17 runs in his 4-over spell.

In pursuit of 150 runs, Lancashire lost Luke Wells (11), Matthew Hurst (4), and Ashton Turner (7) cheaply. Keaton Jennings took his time to settle at the crease, scoring just over a run-a-ball, but couldn’t capitalise on his start and was dismissed for 24.

Michael Jones and Josh Bohannon paired up in the middle and steadied the ship, scoring at a decent pace to keep the scoreboard moving. Jones shifted gears as the innings progressed, bringing up a well-made fifty. However, he couldn’t see the chase through and was dismissed for 55, with Ben Raine ending the 44-run stand.

Chris Green contributed with a handy unbeaten cameo of 15 runs off 8 balls and was at the non-striker’s end when Josh Bohannon fell for 31 on the penultimate delivery, courtesy of a brilliant catch by Neesham off his own bowling. With just one run needed off the final ball, Jack Blatherwick held his nerve and nudged the winning run, taking Lancashire over the line.

James Neesham starred with the ball for Durham, picking up a couple of wickets, but couldn’t help his side defend the total.

1 LANCASHIRE WIN! The field was up. They wanted to prevent the run. Neesham hurled it on a full length, at the off pole. Blatherwick bunted it towards mid-off and set off. The man stationed there fumbled and the batters were through for the single. Spare a thought for Jimmy Neesham. He did it with the bat, he did it with the ball. In the end, he almost brought the game back to parity. Alas, there wasn't enough support. Lancashire would probably have some dissecting to do too. They should not have let it go this far. But hey! All's well that ends well.

Jack Blatherwick is in at number 8, and he will face the final ball of the match.
Goodness me! What a catch that is from Neesham! The game is not over yet as the Kiwi speedster plucks a stunner in his follow-through. Lancashire need one run in the final ball. Remember, there is no super over in the T20 Blast.
