Indian batters, apart from skipper Rohit Sharma and Sarfaraz Khan, had a great time in the middle. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul were confident and positive for most of the innings if you take out the battle of Jaiswal and Jack Nisbet. Shubman Gill was exceptional with a strapped left thumb. Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar all were timing the ball beautifully as India closed out the chase with three overs remaining before the management opted to play out all 46 overs before ending the clash.
Earlier, India won the toss and opted to field after the two-day Pink ball match was curtailed to a one-day fixture thanks to rain on Day 1. There was another rain break on Day 2, with the game being reduced to 46 overs per side. Sam Konstas, the 19-year-old opener, hammered a sensational century, tackling the Indian attack delightfully. Jack Clayton and Hanno Jacobs supported the centurion nicely in different stages of the game and helped the hosts to recover from setbacks.
Harshit Rana was the pick of the bowlers and grabbed four wickets to break the back of the Jack Edwards-led side. The rest of the bowling group chipped in nicely and helped the visitors in wrapping up the Prime Minister's XI for 240.
