That is all from the action here as Dubai Capitals become the first finalists of ILT20 2025. Desert Vipers will have another chance to book their spot alongside their rivals when they face tomorrow's winner of the eliminator between MI Emirates and Sharjah Warriorz as the caravan rolls on. For now, this is Sourabh Agrawal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Saptak Sanyal and scorer Raju Khariya. Good night!
Gulbadin Naib (Player of the Match): "Thank you. When you play a good game, it gives you a lot of positive signs. I played good two days earlier and today luckily I got some time in the middle. Sam (Sam Billings) was batting well but I ran him out. But other than that, things went well.

I can bat at any position where my team wants me to bat. I've batted well at number 3, it has become a lucky number for me.

We played a lot of cricket in Dubai. So I know the surface well. I am used to the conditions and the surface and that went in my favour."
Player of the Match: Gulbadin Naib
Sam Billings (Dubai Capitals' Captain): "Someone has to take him (Hasaranga) on, I have played against him quite a few times and thankfully it was my day today,

To be honest, we were slightly ddisppoonted with the ball. We set off with some plans but Alex Hales played really well. We pegged it back really well in the middle overs, the spinners did well again today and then a couple of times the dew played a part as well.

There is always work to be done, analyze areas where we could do better and now we have extra few days to rest and get ready to play whoever it is.

Again, a few extra days for him to recover (on Warner's injury) but Rossington played really well today and there is a selection headache now with a world-class player like Warner.

Unbelievable (On Gulbadin), he played exceptionally today, had some luck but he is using it really well, he is running with it. With the ball as well, he bowled some crucial overs as well.
Lockie Ferguson (Desert Vipers Captain): "Just I pulled my hamstring but ya a tough night! It was a great game of cricket. In the later stage of the game, the dew came in and made it difficult.

Look I think no total is safe in T20 cricket. The way they chased the run today was of class. They did very well. We will have to regroup and come up for the next game."

11:36 PM IST, 10:06 PM Local Time: PHEW!!! What an absolute humdinger of a contest we have had and after 40 overs and three-and-a-half hours of edge-of-the-seat action we have our first finalist of ILT20 Season 3 - Dubai Capitals.

It was all about nerves in the final few pieces of action and it is the Capitals who have kept their nerves and got past the Vipers, they make it 5 out of 5 against them in their last five matches and record the highest-ever successful run chase in the playoffs of ILT20 and have made it to the finals for the second time in the tournament's history, two years in succession after losing in the final last time around.

Sikandar Raza was the man who hit the winning runs but this match belonged to Gulbadin Naib who had a dream day with the bat, the ball as well as on the field as the Afghan was the lead act in the Capitals' victory.

When he ran his skipper out at the end of the 13th over, it seemed like the Capitals' innings would fall off the track but Gulbadin made sure that he (almost) got the job done, scored yet another half-century and when he got out, Capitals just needed 1 off 1 delivery.

Earlier in the innings, openers Rossington and Hope gave Capitals a solid start with a half-century opening stand. It was a rare off day for Hope who fell for 17 but Rossington carried on and made a useful 44 for his team. The asking rate touched 12 at one moment but it was that crucial 13th over which changed it all as Sam Billings decided to take on Vipers' premier bowler Hasaranga and smacked him for 20 off the first 5 balls before getting run-out on the final ball while attempting a third. Gulbadin stuck around and he found another able partner in Rovman Powell who played a 13-ball 20 cameo as both of them forged a crucial partnership.

Vipers were good in parts with the ball with skipper Lockie Ferguson getting 2 wickets and David Payne bowling out with figures of 1/31 but had a really poor day in the field dropping multiple chances. They gave lives to multiple Capitals' batters and more importantly Gulbadin who rode his luck and proved to be the difference-maker. They live to fight another day as they now await the winner of the eliminator between MI Emirates and Sharjah Warriorz for another bite of the cherry that they earned by topping the table.
