They have chased down 204 with 8 wickets in hand and one ball to spare and have registered their names in the history books as the highest successful run-chase in ILT20 history.
Shai Hope hits the winning runs and he once again has been prolific at the top for the Capitals in this magnificent run chase. His 135-run partnership for the second wicket with Gulbadin Naib turned out to be the difference between both the sides and it did more than enough for them to be successful today.
Hope and Rossington started off briskly but Rossington fell inside the powerplay. Hope and Gulbadin then got together, they started off slowly taking their time specially against Narine but all they were doing was getting their eyes in and it turned out to be the calm before the storm eventually.
Gulbadin led the carnage as he blazed away after being 27 off 27 at one stage to eventually finish on 80 off 47 while Hope kept finding the fence at the other end too. Gulbadin fell in the 18th over but Shanaka made sure he applied the finishing touches as things got a bit tricky towards the end.
