That's all we have for the coverage of the match between MI Emirates and Gulf Giants. Stay tuned for the cricketing action across the globe.
I, Aditya Agarwal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. BYE, CHEERS!
Mark Adair (Player of the Match): "I think it was just about getting the basics right again. TC (Tom Curran) coming in brought a lot of experience, which potentially helped settle down a few of the boys. Overall, I thought he was brilliant. (On Pollard's catch) You get underneath them, and then they stick. If they don’t, you look like an idiot. So, yeah, I was pretty happy with that."
Player of the Match: Mark Adair
James Vince (Gulf Giants): "Yeah, couple of games we were in good position and then we threw away the game. We stumbled today at the end but we got the 2 most important points. Some moments didn't go our way. We restricted them and got a couple of important wickets.
150 wasn't impossible to chase down. We would like to continue the winning ways."
Nicholas Pooran (MI Emirates Captain): "It was a tough one, no doubt about it! We weren’t disciplined, both with the ball and the bat. I think it was crucial not to claim that wicket as a run-out before we had full clarity on the situation, so we reversed our decision. Going forward, we need to be more consistent, understand the conditions better, especially with the size of the boundaries, and keep our emotions in check."
Time for the post-match presentation....
11:20 PM IST and 09:40 PM Local Time | Phew! What a match we just had. Gulf Giants held their nerves and win the match on the very last ball, beating MI Emirates by 2 wickets.
Here’s a review of what happened in the match.
Earlier, MI Emirates managed to score a below par score of 151/6 on the board on the back of Tom Banton (56 runs off 39 balls) and Kieron Pollard (34 runs off 24 balls) with no other batter contributing.
Daniel Worrall brilliantly with the new ball bagged 2 wickets for his side and gave away just 19 runs.
Chasing 152, Gulf Giants started horribly as they lost James Vince and Jordan Cox with the score of 20 on the board.
Tom Alsop then joined hands with Gerhard Erasmus (37 off 28 balls) and the duo steadied the ship for their side. They put up a fighting 65 run stand for the third wicket to get into the driver’s seat.
Gulf Giants then suffered a mini collapse as they went from 85-2 to 104-5. They lost all of their momentum. MI Emirates came back into the game with back to back wickets.
With 33 runs required from 20 balls, Mark Adair walked in and played a quick cameo of 15 runs from 8 balls before getting out. Tom Curran played some good shots as well.
The equation came down to 11 from the last over, Dan Mousley then bowled a no-ball and got hit for a six on the very first ball. He came back and brought the equation down to 1 required from the last ball. Zuhaib held his nerves and hits it over the inner field and to get Gulf Giants over the line and win by 2 wickets.
