Yorkshire won the toss and elected to field first, but Northamptonshire batters were unforgiving in their approach and smashed Yorkshire around for 237/4 from their 20 overs! Justin Broad was the top scorer for them with 67 runs off 32 balls. While, Dominic Bess was the pick of the bowlers with the figures of 2/29 from his 4 overs.
Come the chase, it was a disastrous start for Yorkshire as they lost 3 wickets in the first over to find themselves reeling at 9/3! However, Harry Duke and James Wharton put together 81 runs for the 4th wicket to bring Yorkshire back into the game!
Lloyd Pope entered the contest and found the timber of Harry Duke after he scored 37 runs off 18 balls! With the target still miles away, Will Sutherland joined forces with James Wharton and the duo smashed 51 runs together for the 5th wicket to keep the momentum going.
Willey returned and got rid of Wharton for 58 runs off 29 balls to throw a wrench in their plans! With little support at the other end, Sutherland fell in quick succession for 58 runs off 30 balls but with the target gettable, Yorkshire were still in the game.
