That marks the end of another exciting season of Champions T20 Cup. Stallions have outplayed the Markhors by 76 runs in the summit clash and claimed the title. The Stallions were absolutely top-notch in the field and are the deserving winner of the tournament.
For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Karthik Raj and our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Good night.
Mohammad Haris now collects the trophy and calls his teammates to join for the celebration. The fireworks go up and the Stallions team pose for a photograph now. That's some moment in the ground!
Mohammad Haris (Stallions Captain):"We deserve to smile. The situation was intense. The wicket was good today. We tried to give the pressure on them and Yasir scored a hundred. 200 run is never easy to chase. We gave him opportunities. We knew that he is a great cricketer and kept backing him.
I played a lot of First Class games and that has helped. I want to thank Shoaib Malik for all. He shared his enormous experience with us and that helped us. We had a lot of guys who performed in the tournament. Usman Tariq deserves a special mention."
It's time for the champions to collect the trophy. Mohammad Haris comes up to collect the champions cheque.
Iftikhar Ahmed (Markhors Captain):"First of all, I want to congratulate Stallions who were superb throughout the tournament.
Yasir Khan played a brilliant knock and that took the game away from us.
There is a lot of pressure in a final and the team which overcomes it ends up as the winners. Akif Javed, Saad Masood, Khawaja Nafay were positives for us."
The Markhors captain Iftikhar Ahmed collects the runners-up trophy and the award.
Mohammad Ali (Player of the Tournament):"I think I should thank Shoaib bhai. He pushed me for the performance. I was not relaxed and the credit goes to the management.
In the last PSL, I was the second highest wicket taker perhaps. In T20, you have to work with variations as the boundaries are smaller and the pitches are flat. I think if you prepare with the red ball, the rest of the formats become easier.
I want to thank our masseur and our doctor. They have done a commendable job."
Player of the Tournament: Mohammad Ali (Stallions)
Best Bowler of the Tournament: Mohammad Ali (Stallions) (22 Wickets)
Best Batter of the Tournament: Hussain Talat (Stallions) (319 Runs)
