That marks the end of our coverage from the 38th game of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League between Fortune Barishal and Dhaka Capitals. Fortune Barishal showed dominance in every facets of the game and are the deserving winners.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ajay Pal Singh and Deepak Prakash and our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Good night!
Tamim Iqbal (Fortune Barishal Captain): "Yeah, this game was very important for us. We had two games in hand, wanted to win to finish in top two and played a full-strength squad. The way the bowlers bowled was brilliant.  He (Tanvir Islam) got hurt in the last ball off the innings, he is not able to walk now. I am a bit worried but hopefully, he will be good for the playoffs.

The message I got from the bowlers is that it wasn't doing much off the surface. Even in the first innings, we were lucky in some cases. It wasn't turning much. If you see two shots from Litton, you can make an idea that it was a good wicket.

Malan was going great, Hridoy played some good shots, I didn't have to do too much out there.

Yeah, we have done everything possible to finish in the top two. It is not the serious time. You have to be good on the day. It doesn't matter you have done earlier in the tournament. We still have a game against Chittagong and then we can focus on playoffs."
Tanvir Islam is injured and his skipper Tamim Iqbal collects the award on his behalf.
Player of the Match: Tanvir Islam
Time for the post-match presentation.
Thisara Perera (Dhaka Capitals Captain): "As a team we are disappointed. We batted badly and we have to step up from here. The pitch was nice to bat so I decided to bat first.  But anyway, as a batting unit we failed.

If you see the way they (Fortune Barishal) batted, they played their normal game. As a batting unit, we have to do much much better in the next games."
Largest Margin of Victory by Balls Remaining in Bangladesh Premier League:

1) 81- Fortune Barishal vs Dhaka Capitals (Mirpur, TODAY)

2) 73- Dhaka Dynamites vs Sylhet Sixers (Mirpur, 11th November, 2017)

3) 72- Rangpur Riders vs Khulna Titans (Mirpur, 10th November, 2016)

4) 64- Comilla Victorians vs Chattogram Challengers (Sylhet, 2nd February, 2024)

5) 63- Rangpur Riders vs Comilla Victorians (Mirpur, 2nd February, 2019)
8:13 PM IST & 8:43 PM Local Time: Well, that was quick. It took the Fortune Barishal just 39 balls to steamroll the Dhaka Capitals in their own backyard after bundling them out for 73. Tamim Iqbal and Towhid Hridoy started positively in the chase, and after the latter lost his wicket, Dawid Malan took matters into his own hands, keeping the big shots going and making a mockery of the run chase.

Earlier in the match, Fortune Barishal won the toss and opted to bowl. The bowlers responded to the call by Tamim Iqbal by knocking over the hosts for a paltry total of 73 in 15.3 overs.

Tanvir Islam picked up three wickets for two runs while Mohammad Nabi bagged three for nine. Faheem Ashraf also picked up three wickets and gave away 15 runs.

In reply, Tamim Iqbal and Towhid Hridoy added 21 runs in 2.2 overs. Hridoy fell for 15 off nine deliveries. Dawid Malan then joined hands with his skipper and the duo put on an unbeaten 56-run stand for the second wicket.

Iqbal remained not out on 21 off 14 while Malan was unbeaten on 37 off 16 to get the Barishal over the line in just 6.3 overs. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.
