Milestone
Time to wrap up this coverage, folks! Rangpur Riders' 8-match winning streak has been halted by Durbar Rajshahi. For now, it's me Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentator Pritam Dey and scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. CHEERS!
Taskin Ahmed (Durbar Rajshahi Captain): "Yeah you know, everyone knew that it was a must win game for us and I am very happy that we did well today.

Yeah it was a phenomenal innings from Yasir Ali. Sabbir batted really well early on and Yasir finished it off for us. I thought we were 15-20 runs short but the bowlers did a brilliant job.

You know, we started off with the ball really well but there was some big overs for the Riders. Then came in Ryan Burl and the rest you all can see (laughs). Everyone did their roles and we tried to stay very calm and follow our process.

I have been playing for so long. By experience and with the process I am following, I have to take those pressure for my time because lot of International matches are coming up and I have to be at my best."
Ryan Burl (Player of the Match): "Yeah, it's obviously quite disheartening to get out for a duck, but that's the beauty of being an all-rounder—you can still contribute in other aspects of the game. So, yeah, I'm very happy to have made an impact.

(On the catch he took in his follow-through) Yeah, it's nice to grab it, but to be fair, I should have caught it the first time. I made it a bit harder.

Yeah, 100%. But that's the nature of T20 cricket. The momentum shifts—you know, sometimes the batters are on top, and then it swings back to the bowlers. But as you said, we managed to take wickets at crucial moments, which really helped to stem their run rate."

Time for the post-match presentation.....
Nurul Hasan (Rangpur Riders Captain): "Yeah definitely I think boys really know what mistakes have been done in this game. It is alarming for us and we need to wake up. Throughout the tournament we have been really good but now is the time to get up again and carry out the good form throughout the tournament.

Well the first 6 overs, we did not bowl well at all. After 15 overs, our bowlers stepped up and picked up wickets in clusters to get us back in the game. With the bat we lost 2 wickets in the powerplay and did not get much runs on the board. I think it is a good alarm for us and boys need to know what they have to do in the next match.

Yeah definitely, in such a short format, you know back-to-back wickets always cause you problems. That was the reason why we failed to make a comeback in this game. Hopefully we will be back again in the next game."
4:26 PM IST, 4:56 PM Local Time: Rangpur Riders are folded for 146 runs, suffering their first defeat in the ongoing BPL after an impressive streak of eight consecutive wins. On the other hand, Durbar Rajshahi keep their hopes alive in the tournament with this 24-run victory over Rangpur Riders.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Durbar Rajshahi posted 170/9 in 20 overs. Sabbir Hossain (39) and Anamul Haque (34) laid a solid foundation for the Rajshahi, adding 50+ runs for the second wicket. Yasir Ali played a scintillating knock, smashing 60 runs off just 32 balls, setting the stage for a big total.

However, the batters faltered in the death overs, losing wickets in clusters, and Rajshahi fell short of expectations, managing 170/9 despite being in a position where 190 looked easily achievable.

Khushdil Shah (3/31) and Akif Javed (3/23) shone with the ball for Rangpur Riders, sharing six wickets between them. Rakibul Hasan and Nahid Rana contributed one wicket each.

In response to 170 runs, Rangpur Riders were rocked hard by Rajshahi bowlers as they lost three wickets in the blink of an eye inside 4 overs. Saif Hassan and Khushdil Shah started building the partnership but the latter was sent packing for just 14 runs, putting the Riders in deep trouble. Saif (43) and Nurul Hasan (41), however, looked in good touch and scored briskly, but he fell agonizingly short of a well-deserved fifty.

Ryan Burl wreaked havoc with the ball for Rajshahi and chipped in with wickets at regular intervals. Eventually, the Riders were bundled out for 146 runs in 19.2 overs.

Ryan Burl finished his spell with impressive figures of 4/22.
Taskin Ahmed and SM Meherob chipped in with a couple of wickets each, while Shafiul Islam and Sabbir Hossain contributed one wicket to the downfall.

Stay tuned for the presentation....
