Time to wrap up this coverage, folks! For now, it's me Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentator Hiren Kumar and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. CHEERS!
Mohammad Mithun (Chittagong Kings Captain): "Yeah, definitely. This is a very important match. We didnāt play well in the last two games, but I have to say, today we brought our A game. Definitely, this is my job and my role in the team. So, every time, I try to contribute to my team."
Naeem Islam (Player of the Match): "First of all, I want to thank Allah. I also want to thank the team owner for trusting me and selecting me for the team. We knew we were one batter short, so we planned to build a partnership and lay a foundation for the later batters. I always try to keep myself fit, and I am enjoying my cricket."
Player of the Match: Naeem Islam
Time for the post-match presentation.....
Taskin Ahmed (Durbar Rajshahi Captain): "We started well but couldn't finish on a high note. Our fielding was below par today, and losing our best batter, Ryan Burl, to injury added to our struggles. However, we are still alive in the tournament. We need to win at least two of the remaining three matches and maintain a good net run rate to keep our qualification hopes alive. It was a big loss for us."
9:03 PM IST, 9:33 PM Local Time: Poor, very poor batting display from Durbar Rajshahi as they lost wickets at regular intervals and faced a humiliating 111-run defeat. Chittagong Kings staged a comeback after back-to-back losses and returned to winning ways. Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Chittagong Kings posted a mammoth 191/8 in 20 overs. Naeem Islam set the tone for a high score, contributing 56 runs off 41 balls. Graham Clark looked in sublime touch but unfortunately fell 5 short of his fifty, losing his wicket in the form of a run-out. Mohammad Mithun (32), Haider Ali (25), and Rahatul Ferdousā (16) valuable contributions propelled the Kings to over 190 runs in their 20-over quota.
Taskin Ahmed and Mohor Sheikh bagged a couple of wickets each for Rajshahi, while Jishan Alam and Sunzamul Islam shared one wicket each. In response to 191 runs, Durbar Rajshahi got off to a horrible start, losing three wickets inside three overs. Anamul Haque (21) and Akbar Ali (10) managed to hold their wickets for a while but failed to build a significant partnership in the middle.
The Kings' bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals and eventually skittled out Rajshahi for a meagre 80 runs in the 15th over, with Burl unable to bat due to injury. Rajshahi's scorecard made for grim reading, with only Anamul and Akbar managing to reach double figures.
Shoriful Islam and Naeem Islam bagged a couple of wickets for the Kings, while Binura Fernando, Arafat Sunny, Khaled Ahmed, Rahatul Ferdous, and Shamim Hossain contributed one wicket each to the downfall.
