Thisara Perera (Dhaka Capitals Captain): "Yeah, of course, we really needed this win. Weāve been searching for this win over the last two weeks, and thatās the reality of our cricket. We badly needed this win because we want to start fresh from here. I always tell my boys to believe in themselves, because whatever the situation, if we click, no one can catch us. Thatās the story of Dhaka Capitals. Iām really happy with our performance, especially the way Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Litton started. We couldnāt have asked for more.
Yeah, of course. Before coming here today, we had a good chat. We always believe in ourselves and focus on the positive aspects, which is the most important thing. No matter the situation, we have many positives from this match, and even from the last few matches, there are plenty of positives. Thatās why we always keep our heads up. Hopefully, we can continue this form in future matches."
Litton Das (Player of the Match): "First of all, thanks to my Bhagwan (God). Yeah, I played very well in the last game, but unfortunately didnāt get the hundred. Today, however, is my day. The wicket wasnāt easy to bat on, as there was no dew today and the ball was gripping. We planned to bat cautiously in the initial overs and then accelerate.
It was amazing to bat with Tanzid. I am not a big hitter as I score lots of four but as I said, today is my day.
I want to say one thing. I wasn't in good rhythm in the last couple of matches, and I was mentally upset during that phase. Iād like to thank my wife, who supported me through my tough times. Thereās also one guy in the squadāheās a boy, but he worked hard with me and helped me a lot in practice sessions. I want to thank him as well."
Player of the Match: Litton Das
Time for the post-match presentation....
Anamul Haque (Durbar Rajshahi Captain): "Yeah, we didnāt execute our plans properly and missed a couple of catches as well. Credit to Litton and Tanzid for the way they batted. Itās a disappointing day for the Rajshahi team, but we have a four-day recovery period before the next game. Hopefully, we can work on our loopholes during that time."
9:16 PM IST, 9:36 PM Local Time: Finally, Dhaka Capitals end their drought in the ongoing BPL, registering their first win of the season after six consecutive losses. They annihilated Durbar Rajshahi by a mammoth 149 runs, marking the biggest win by runs in BPL history.
Earlier after being invited to bat first, Dhaka Capitals got off to a rollicking start after being invited to bat first. Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan scored rapidly from the outset and put the Rajshahi under the pump. The opening duo continued to dominate the Capitals' bowlers, with both reaching their fifties in the process. The dynamic duo continued their carnage, both smashing centuries in the processāthe first time both openers have scored centuries in a single innings of T20. Durbar Rajshahi fielders dropped a couple of catches, and they paid a heavy price for it as the opening duo stockpiled 241 runs for the first wicket before Tanzid fell prey to Shafiul Islam after scoring 108 runs in the final over of the innings. Litton finished the innings with a biggie, smashing an unbeaten 125 runs off 55 balls. In response to a mammoth 254 runs, Durbar Rajshahi got off to a horrible start as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were 5 down for just 34 runs in the 7th over. Mohammad Haris and Anamul Haque even failed to open their account, while Sabbir Hossain (11), Akbar Ali (1), and SM Meherob (4) departed cheaply, leaving their side in deep waters. Ryan Burl was the only batter to hold the wicket in the middle, with the left-hander looking in good touch but losing partners at regular intervals. Eventually, Burl remained unbeaten on 47 runs, and Durbar Rajshahi were bowled out for 105 runs. Abu Jayed, Mukidul Islam, Mosaddek Hossain, and Farmanullah Safi bagged two wickets each for the Capitals, while Mustafizur Rahman contributed one wicket to the downfall.
