Milestone
So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj, my co-commentator, Deepak Prakash and our scorer, Raju Khariya as we wrap up the coverage of this fixture. There will be a couple of days' break in the BPL but cricket continues otherwise with three Test matches going on along with a little bit of Big Bash League action as well. Until we meet next time, it is good bye and good night from us.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Khulna Tigers Captain & Player of the Match): "I am happy to have performed well after a long time. I was confused after the last game as I didn't do well. It is diffcult to bowl in conditions like these in T20s."
Player of the Match: Mehidy Hasan Miraz
Thisara Perera has been named as the 'Most Valuable Player of the Match'.
Time for the presentation!
Thisara Perera (Dhaka Capitals Captain): "Scoring a century in T20 cricket is a dream come true, but unfortunately, it came in a losing cause. However, I’m happy with my performance. We were in control until the 16th over of the first innings but gave away too many runs in the death overs. Our top-order batters need to step up in future matches."

10:19 PM IST & 10:49 PM Local Time | What a terrific performance from the Khulna Tigers as they wrap up their second consecutive victory to start the season. They have defeated Dhaka Capital by 20 runs.

Chasing 174 for victory, Dhaka Capital got off to a poor start as Khulna Tigers’ skipper, Mehidy Hasan Miraz removed the duo of Litton Das and Stephen Eskinazi off consecutive balls in the third over. In the next over, Abu Hider removed Tanzid Hasan after the opener played some eye-catchy shots. The wickets continued to fall as Abu Hider dismissed Shahadat Hossain in the last over of the Powerplay. Eventually, Dhaka Capital finished the sixth over at 31/4.

After a few quiet overs, Mehidy trapped Shubham Ranjane in front in the ninth over to get his third scalp of the innings. Alauddin Babu was the next to go back to the hut as Ziaur Rahman had him caught behind. By then, the game had completely gone out of Dhaka Capital’s hands but their skipper Thisara Perera waged a lone battle by bringing up his fifty off 39 balls. At the other end, Chaturanga de Silva struggled to get going which meant that Dhaka’s miniscule chance of pulling out a miracle also went up in smokes.

However, Perera continued to entertain the crowd with some terrific ball-striking even as he got a reprieve from William Bosisto in the fag end of the innings. In the end, the veteran all-rounder went onto register his maiden T20 hundred off the final ball of the innings. His scintillating 60-knock was the second century of the day with Usman Khan also getting triple figures in the afternoon match. Yet it was Khulna who emerged victorious by 20 runs despite the milestone from Perera.
