After losing the toss and put into bat first, Jason Roy and Daniel Lawrence opened the innings for Colombo Jaguars. Roy lost his wicket in the very first ball of the innings. Lawrence could only score 5 from 6 balls. They were down to 28/5 in 3.5 overs. Kamindu Mendis made 17 from 10 balls. Najibullah Zadran scored 12 from 8 balls. Ramesh Mendis remained the top scorer for the side as he remained unbeaten on 28* from 16 balls. Asif Ali played a quick fire knock of 18 from 7 balls. They posted a total of 99/8 in 10 overs. For Jaffna Titans, Dunith Wellalage was the pick of the bowlers who took 5/3 in 2 overs. Lahiru Kumara took 2/19 in 2 overs. David Wiese and George Garton took one wicket each in the innings. Chasing a target of 100 on the board, Kevin Wickham and Kusal Mendis opened the innings for Jaffna Titans. They also faced an early setback as Wickham was dismissed for a duck by Angelo Mathews in the very first over of the innings. Mendis was then joined by Charith Asalanka in the middle. The duo added 98 runs for the second wicket. While Kusal Mendis remained unbeaten on 79* from 23 balls. Asalanka also remained not out on 16* from 8 balls.
For Colombo Jaguars, only Angelo Matthews managed to pick one wicket while others were thrashed all over the ground by batters of Jaffna Titans.
