Hereβs a review of what happened in the match.
Earlier, Galle Marvels won the toss and opted to bowl first. Kandy Bolts lost 2 wickets in quick succession and were put under pressure by Binura Fernando.
Dinesh Chandimal then came in at 4 and hit the ball running. He smashed the bowler's to all parts of the ground and played a superb knock of 66 runs from just 25 balls before getting out.
Apart from him, none of the batters contributed to the team's cause. As a result, Kandy Bolts could only get to a score of 100/5 in their quota of 10 overs.
Binura Fernando was the pick of the bowlers for his team as he bagged 3 wickets and gave away just 9 runs in his 2 overs.
Chasing 101, Alex Hales and Sandun Weerakkody gave a brilliant start to their team as they amassed 36 runs in the first 2 overs. Kandy Bolts came back in the match with 3 quick wickets.
Galle Marvels suffered a mini-collapse from being 36-0 to 39-3. Andre Fletcher then joined hands with Shakib Al Hasan and the duo started the re-building for their side.
The duo put up an unbeaten and match winning 63 run stand for the fourth wicket and ensured that there were no more hiccups to the chase and got their team over the line with 7 wickets remaining and 14 balls to spare.
Andre Fletcher top scored for his side with his knock of 41* runs from 21 balls, including 4 sixes and 3 fours.
