India Women completely dominated Ireland Women at home, whitewashing the series with the biggest-ever win in their ODI history. The hosts have now won the last 4 ODI series at home and are in a good space. Plenty of matches are being covered live on our network. Keep switching tabs for the live-action.
For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur, who brought you all the live coverage of this third and final ODI of the series between India and Ireland. We will meet again. Until then, its cheers!
Smriti Mandhana receives the trophy from Niranjan Shah. She walks up to her teammates as they pose for the photographs. Mandhana hands over the trophy to Sayali Satghare and the celebrations begin. A well-deserving victory for the Women in Blue.
Smriti Mandhana (India Women Captain): "Yeah, I am really pleased that all the girls got a very good game time.
Sometimes, you score the 100s and 50s, which are important. You do all the hard work in the nets, but doing so in the match is something different, which is what matters the most. Really happy for Pratika Rawal. Richa Ghosh, Harleen Deol, Jemimah Rodrigues and a few others. I think there are many; I have lost count.
It's near a perfect game for sure; winning the toss and going in to bat and scoring 400-plus is a really good achievement. The way Richa and Pratika batted was great.
Except for the catch I dropped, everything was perfect. I'm happy for them, and the bowlers also executed their plans well. I actually said to my bowlers to finish the game in the 31st over, and they actually did that.
Going after the bowlers early on was planned. I thought there were not many matches where you could go out and attack. So, I thought of trying a few shots. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes it doesn't. Today, it did.
There are so many things to improve. As much as we want to enjoy this victory, we want to sit down and be in the loop for the World Cup. We need to work on the fielding and running between the wickets. Fifty overs, those 300 balls are critical. If we are good in these two departments, we can do something special."
Pratika Rawal (Player of the Match & Player of the Series): "Yeah, it's a good start to the January season, the new year. So I'm pretty happy.
It's always good to score runs and win it for your country. It's going to boost my confidence going forward.
I just had the celebration in my mind to kiss the helmet. I was visualizing it. I missed in the last two games but happy to get a chance today. I was visualizing since the West Indies series. I wanted to get the hundred in the West Indies series but great to get it today.
It looks so easy when she (Mandhana) bats. I won't mind taking a back seat when she is batting. It's a treat to watch her bat."
