Nicholas Pooran (Captain Deccan Gladiators)- “The toss went our way and we took the decision to bat first. Challenges were thrown at us but we did well to come over it and win the match. Today’s game gave us a bit of confidence. If we get to bat first in the upcoming games, then we will be ready for it.”

What an edge of the seat thriller we had at Abu Dhabi as the game went down to the final ball and the Deccan Gladiators, held their nerve and got over the line. Terrific from Zahoor Khan who trusted himself, bowled the yorker, nailed it and it's two point for the Deccan Gladiators.
Earlier in the day, the opening duo of Nicholas Pooran and TKC, got their side to a flying start after opting to bat first. Straightaway after the powerplay, the Gladiators decided to take the floating powerplay, which backfired them to be honest.
The opening partnership was broken and Gladiators kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Cameos from Jos Buttler (21 off 12) and Marcus Stoinis (10 off 7) lower down the order helped the Deccan Gladiators post a fighting total on the board.
Terrific performance from the Bulls in the fag end of the innings as they squeezed the runs and kept the Gladiators to a score below 110. Two wickets apiece for Shahid Bhutta (2/13) and Salman Irshad (2/15) as the target for the Delhi Bulls was 103 runs from their 10 overs. Before the second innings, the Delhi Bulls had officially qualified for the playoffs.
In reply, the Bulls got off to a cracking start in the run chase. The English-Kiwi opening duo, capitalized the powerplay but it was a similar story post the powerplay as Delhi Bulls, just like the Gladiators kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Terrific captaincy from Nicholas Pooran who marshalled his troops really well. From 50/0 at one stage, the Delhi Bulls lost half of their side for 59.
