11:20 PM IST and 09:50 PM Local Time | Deccan Gladiators outpower Ajman Bolts as they beat them by a margin of 20 runs , registering back to back wins in the tournament.
Hereβs a review of what happened in the match.
Earlier,Ajman Bolts won the toss and put Deccan Gladiators to bat first. Batting first, they lost Rilee Rossouw and Nicholas Pooran cheaply. Tom Kohler-Cadmore showed some omnious signs but departed after making 28 from 16. Deccan Gladiators were on the score of 50-3 at one point.
Marcus Stoinis then walked in and joined hands with Jos Buttler. The duo smashed the Ajman Bolts bowlers to all parts of the ground. They put up a solid 87* run stand from just 31 balls for the fourth wicket and powered their side to a daunting score of 137/3.
Jos Buttler top scored with his knock of 60* runs from 22 balls, Marcus Stoinis made 42* runs in just 16 balls as well. Jimmy Neesham was the pick of the bowlers for his team as he bagged 2 wickets and gave away just 17 runs in his 2 overs.
Chasing 138, Ajman Bolts started off slow and lost both their openers in the process to Richard Gleeson. Gulbadin Naib fell cheaply too, leaving his side struggling at 42-3. The required run rate kept creeping up. Jimmy Neesham ( 37* off 20) and Mohammad Nabi (43* off 13) put in a 75* run stand for the fourth wicket but their efforts went in vain as the target was beyond their reach.
In the end, Deccan Gladiators won the match by 20 runs. Richard Gleeson was the star bowler for his side as he picked up 2 wickets in his quota of 2 overs. Stay tuned for the presentation coming up!
