Phil Salt (Player of the Match): "Yeah obviously over the moon. I did not quite expect the game would play like this. I am disappointed for Noor and Ghazanfar but I am sure their time will come.
I just like the wicket to be honest. It played really well and the ball was coming nicely onto the bat.
I think you have to get on with the game no matter what the format is. I backed myself and it worked out well for me.
Yeah, it is a challenge but one thing I wanted to keep things clear was we wanted to get into the game with a very aggressive approach and that's what we want to do.
We had training yesterday, some drink here and there but we are having a pretty good time I feel as a group.
Yeah, it's definitely one of the strongest field of play. I have watched this a lot but as a professional cricketer, you are always ready for something new and I am really glad with the win."

6:28 PM IST and 4:58 Local Time- The Abu Dhabi have won the first game of the Abu Dhabi T10 2024 by 9 wickets. It has been an absolute cakewalk for them and it was a special knock from their skipper Phil Salt that got them over the line. They've clinched this game in just 34 balls and inflicted a crushing defeat on Ajman Bolts.
The Abu Dhabi side began the run chase in a timid note as they lost the wicket of Stirling early on in the powerplay and the runs didn't really come in the first three overs as Salt played and missed a few. However once he and Bairstow got their eyes in, it was always going to be a tough task for the Bolts.
Mohammad Nabi made the tactical error of going to Gulbadin Naib instead of Mujeeb. Salt took a liking to Naib's pace and thrashed him for five sixes and a boundary in the 5th over to effectively kill the game in a span of just six balls.
The bowlers didn't have much to do for Ajman Bolts and it was those two overs from Mohsin and then from Naib that cost them the game. Behrendorff did pick up a wicket early on but when he was brought back, the game had already become a formality for the batting side.
