For now, this is Aditya Agarwal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and our scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. BYE , CHEERS!!
Gaby Lewis( Ireland Women Captain) : " The last 10 overs was brilliant for us. We figured out pretty early that it was a good batting surface. We wanted to bat well and post a good score on the board. The catches went in our favor in the last few overs and we got on the winning side."
Leah Paul ( POTM) : "We just wanted to play according to the merit. The surface was good to bat on and the ball was coming good on the bat. It always feel nice to be on the winning side."
Nigar Sultana Joty (Bangladesh Women Captain): "I think they batted really well today. We didn't bowl well today and our fielders also did not support the bowlers. Our openers were brilliant and added a record partnership but we lost momentum in the latter half and lost wickets regularly.

Even in the last 2 overs, it was so close and we thought we could achieve it but they bowled really well in the end. We need to rectify a few mistake and comeback stronger in the next game."
Arlene Kelly ( Ireland Women) : " I think first of all credit goes to Gaby and Leah for making a solid partnership. They got us to a good score. We fought back and we knew the opposition will come hard at us. It is always happy to get over the line."
Player of the Match:  Leah Paul
Time for the post match presentations.
04:50 PM IST and 05:20 PM Local Time | PHEW! What a thrilling match we just had. In the end, Ireland Women held their nerves and go 1-0 up in the series as they beat Bangladesh Women by 12 runs.

Here’s a review of what happened in the match.

Earlier, Ireland Women won the toss and opted to bat first. They lost Orla Prendergast and Amy Hunter early.

Leah Paul then came in at 4 and joined hands with her skipper. The duo put up a stunning 107 run stand for the third wicket and helped their side to get a daunting score of 169/5.

Leah Paul remained not out till the end and top scored for her side with a knock of 79 runs off 45 balls.

Nahida Akter impressed with the ball as she gave away just 20 runs and picked up a wicket as well in her 4 overs.

Chasing 170, Bangladeshi openers started off in quick fashion from the ball one. They were supported by some sloppy fielding by the Irish Women. Dilara Akter and Sobhana Mostary put up 103 run for the first wicket.

With 71 runs required in 54 balls, Bangladesh Women were cruising along with the game. Ireland Women then struck 3 back to back wickets and got back into the game.

Sharmin Akhter and Taj Nehar played some quickfire cameos and brought their side into the game. With 18 runs needed from 12 balls, Bangladesh Women were running away with the match.

Orla Prendergast then bowled a splendid penultimate over for her side, as she bowled a double wicket maiden over. In the end , Arlene Kelly then held her nerves in the last over and won it for her side by a margin of 12 runs. Stay tuned for the presentations!
