Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Captain): "Yes, it’s been wonderful to see how the players have contributed in the middle. We’ve always emphasized our batting, and so far in this series, I think they’ve done well. The top order is scoring runs, and the bowlers are performing brilliantly too. Overall, it’s been a fantastic series.
So far, everyone has been doing their job and enjoying themselves in the middle. This is the most important thing—they all know that we have each other's support, and that makes a big difference.
See, it’s very important when your top order is scoring runs, as it helps others build their innings around them and bat freely. We had that opportunity in this series, and I think Sharmin and I were able to play our natural game. It was crucial for us to gain confidence ahead of an important series.
We had a very good series, and we know that. We want to carry this momentum into the West Indies series as well, because we recognize that every player is valuable. Our goal is to avoid having to play the qualifier for the ODI World Cup; I think everyone wants to qualify directly. That’s why we’re focused on our next target. Now, we’re shifting our focus to the T20 series, where we also need to perform well and play as a team."
Fargana Hoque (Player of the Series): "My personal target was to score 2 Hundreds in this series. My role was a bit more, I bat at the top of the order and I wanted to score big runs but whatever has happened is good. I am very happy.
Well, when Murshida was dismissed, I was having a chat with Sharmin that we want to make small targets. We wanted to look into the next 5 overs and then we were looking forward.
We also had messages from the coaching staff. I have a great bonding with Sharmin and we are capable of batting for 700 to 1000 deliveries. Very happy with the performance."
Player of the Series: Fargana Hoque
Sharmin Akhter (Player of the Match): "(About her foot injury) Yes, it's absolutely fine. I am happy and fine.
Regarding this series, my target was to be the top run scorer in this ODI Series and I am very happy to achieve that target.
Each and everyone supported me a lot. The coaching staff were backing me a lot as well. They wanted me to do very well.
As a batting group, we are always pushing each other to perform better every next game. We have a very good bonding and I am very happy.
To all the fans, in this critical situation, thank you so much for turning up to the stadium and supporting us."
Player of the Match: Sharmin Akhter
Gaby Lewis (Ireland Women Captain): "I think we lost wickets at crucial moments throughout our innings, but there were still some positives to take away. We had little partnerships here and there that could have potentially taken us further, but unfortunately, we lost wickets at key stages. That said, there are definitely some positives to carry into the T20 series.
I think we adapted a bit better, and we’ll look to carry forward what we’ve learned from this series into the T20 series. I think we adjusted well with the bat, and we now have a good understanding of what works well with the ball. We'll aim to carry those small positives into the next series.
Yeah, it's been a good championship for us. I think there have been some ups and downs, but overall, we've had a really successful summer. We knew it was going to be challenging coming out here and playing in unfamiliar conditions, but we definitely showed glimpses of what the future holds for our team."
