So, that also brings a wrap to our coverage of this game between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Lahore Qalandars. For now, this is me Karthik Raj signing off on behalf of myself and my scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. CHEERS!
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "We thought the conditions will be easier in the second innings. But Shai Hope played really well and Keemo came with a good cameo as well. We adapted really well. It was tough but a good lesson going forward. (Did they think about NRR) Yeah we did. But when we went to bat, it was difficult against their spinners. Obviously, it would have been nice to win with a bonus point but very good to start off with a win. I want to congratulate Dwaine Pretorius for his spell as well."
Carlos Brathwaite (Lahore Qalandars Captain)"We just didn't get enough partnerships. Pretorius bowled really well and when you lose four wickets in an over, it is difficult to gain momentum. For a team that was assembled recently, we are better off after a game. We have 3 days to regroup and the next game is a day game, so slightly different. It is nice. Always thought about getting the champions from different parts of the world and the Guyana government has managed to get this underway. You never know, in 10 years time, this could be really big."
Dwaine Pretorius (Player of the Match): "Luckily, we bowled them out before they could face 20 overs. 10-15 runs and it could have been very tricky for us. Overall, a good start for us. They also bowled well, was tough when to face good lengths and they used variations as well."
Dwaine Pretorius has been named as the 'Player of the Match'
07:49 AM IST & 10:49 PM Local Time: Perfect start to the tournament for Guyana Amazon Warriors as they beat Lahore Qalandars by six wickets and with two overs to spare.

Chasing a below-par 126 for victory, Guyana Amazon Warriors didn't get off to the best start as Mark Deyal was dismissed by Salman Mirza in the very first over. Shai Hope came out and looked to be in supreme touch but Moeen Ali struggled at the other end. In the fifth over, Moeen holed out to mid-off as Mirza removed both the openers. The Lahore Qalandars' bowlers began to tighten the noose as Guyana could only manage 38/2 in the Powerplay.

The spinners then came into the action and managed to keep both Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer in check. Hetmyer, in particular, struggled due to the extravagant turn on offer and was also offered a life off Luke Wells' bowling when Adam Rossington floundered a stumping opportunity in the seventh over. However, Wells dished up some hittable balls in his following overs and the pair of Hope and Hetmyer struck a few sixes to ensure that the asking rate didn't go out of hand.

Yet, Hetmyer's knock was largely a struggle and he finally got out off Asif Afridi's very first ball. Roston Chase came out with a lot of intent but his useful cameo was also brought to an end by Asif in the 15th over. A couple of deliveries later, Hope survived a close LBW call after the Qalandars opted for the DRS. There was another opportunity that went missing for the away team as they failed to take a review off Tabraiz Shami's bowling with Keemo Paul all but struck in front. Asif continued to strangle the batters as he bowled a tight 17th over to just about keep his side in the game. It wasn't to last for long though as Keemo struck a couple of sixes and a boundary off Mirza's bowling to seal the game with a couple of overs to spare.
