That's all from this contest, folks! For now, it's me Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur. CHEERS!
Tom Bruce (Central Stags Captain): "Yeah, it’s been a bit tough over the last couple of games, especially with the washouts. But the beauty of it is that we had already done the hard work earlier in the season, and the guys came into tonight full of confidence.

It's pleasing to be in the top spot now, as it takes everything else out of the equation. So, yeah, really pleased with the guys."
Sean Solia (Auckland Aces Captain): "Yeah, absolutely. We put a total on the board that we backed ourselves to defend, and I think the way we bowled in the powerplay and through the middle was exceptional. I’m really proud of the boys for how they adjusted to the wicket, assessed what was working, and made it tough for the batters at times.

But credit to them—they played well and stuck through it. We did miss a couple of opportunities that could have changed the outcome, but overall, it was a solid effort.

Yeah, I mean, when it goes down to the last over, I definitely backed us to defend that total, especially with how we bowled throughout the innings. Our bowlers have been exceptional throughout the tournament, and we were happy with the total we had. Of course, you always want to score a few more runs and take a few more wickets, but it just wasn’t meant to be."
Tom Bruce (Game Changer of the Match): "Yeah, I made it look tough. I just struggled with my timing today—yeah, a little bit. I’m actually a bit embarrassed to get the award, but it was tough to get in and get going. Some guys showed they could adapt, while others struggled with the extra bit of bounce. It wasn’t always about timing; the surface was a bit inconsistent. So, yeah, pleased we got over the line, but it probably wasn’t the easiest knock.

Yeah, I think that’s the thing out here—you’re only one shot away from regaining your timing. It probably took a little longer than I would have liked, but like you said, we left it quite late. The good thing about this team is that we trust the guys down the order to come in and finish the job, which Angus and Curtis were able to do."

1:50 PM IST, 9:20 PM Local Time: Angus Schaw sealed the game in style for Central Stags in the last-over thriller. Central Stags win by 5 wickets, and they secure their direct qualification in the summit clash of the ongoing Super Smash. On the other hand, the Auckland Aces needed to win this game to stay alive in the tournament, and they failed to do so, and have been eliminated from the tournament.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Auckland Aces lost skipper Sean Solia for just one run, but Simon Keene (25) and Mark Chapman (21) scored briskly and laid a good foundation for the team. They were 54/2 at the end of the powerplay when the rain intervened for a while and the game was reduced to 18 overs per side. The Aces lost a few wickets in quick succession post the rain break but Jock McKenzie (28) and Cam Fletcher (31) put things back on track, propelling the score to 147/9 in 18 overs.

Brett Randell shone with the ball for Stags, claiming three wickets. Blair Tickner and Toby Findlay bagged a couple of wickets each for Stags, while Angus Schaw and Jayden Lennox contributed one wicket each.

In pursuit of 147 runs, Central Stags lost both their openers, Will Young (11) and Jack Boyle (10) cheaply inside the powerplay. Dane Cleaver came out to bat at number three and scored at a brisk pace to keep the run rate in check, but Jock McKenzie trapped him for 36 runs and halted his progress.

Tom Bruce initially struggled to time the ball but regained his rhythm to score 37 off 21 balls. William Clark contributed 26 runs but fell at a crucial stage of the game. With 26 needed off the last 12 balls, Angus Schaw stole the limelight with an unbeaten 16-run cameo off just 4 deliveries, sealing the game for the Stags with three balls to spare.

Angus Olliver and Jock McKenzie bagged a couple of wickets for the Aces, while Danru Ferns contributed one wicket.

Stay tuned for the presentation....
