That will be all from our side as we wrap up our coverage of this Super Smash game between Canterbury Kings and Wellington Firebirds. For now, it's Soumarya Dutta signing off on behalf of Darpan Tikiya and our Scorer/Analyst Bishal Mandal.
Michael Bracewell (Player of the Match): "We are just pleased to come here and get the win. Obviously it was tough with a bowler like Logan (van Beek) going down. But we dug dip and did well.

We are in that position where we have to win almost everything. Not the ideal position to be in, but we are trying to enjoy our cricket and take it one game at a time."
Player of the Match - Michael Bracewell (Wellington Firebirds)
1:39 PM IST and 9:09 PM Local Time | Wellington Firebirds have registered an emphatic win by 31 runs here. The Canterbury Kings never got going and ended up being bowled out for 136 from 18.5 overs. Nathan Smith finished the innings off with the wicket of Matt Henry as he chopped one on to his stumps.

Canterbury Kings got off to a sluggish start as the pair of Latham and Chad Bowes tried to find a way to get themselves in early on. Latham tried to play a few cheeky shots and picked up a few boundaries to up the ante. However he was dismissed of the final over of the powerplay as the Kings got only 37 runs from the first six overs.

Ben Sears bowled with some hostility in the middle overs and he picked up some wickets too. Chad Bowes fell to his extra pace as did the dangerous Daryl Mitchell. Young Matthew Boyle was run out for just 12 while Cole McConchie was dismissed by Michael Bracewell. The turning point in the game was the final over Peter Younghusband as he picked up both Zachary Foulkes and Kyle Jamieson too leave the Kings reeling in trouble.

Mitchell Hay and Matt Henry tried to stitch together a partnership and launched a counter attack as they hit a few big shots. However it was always going to be a bridge too far for them as they perished in the quest of big hits. The Kings had their experienced batters get off to starts but none of them managed to convert it into a big score.

For the Firebirds, Michael Bracewell was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up four wickets from his spell. Peter Younghusband and Ben Sears also picked up a coupe of wickets each while Nathan Smith had a wicket. Overall, it was the two spinners who proved to be the game changers for Wellington.

W DISMISSED IN SLOW-MO! Pace-off delivery, good length, outside off. Henry waited for it to arrive and then slashed at the eleventh hour. The ball deflected into the ground and bounced a couple more times before crashing into the stumps.
18.4 N Smith to M Henry
0 Another swing and miss. Good length, in the channel outside off. Henry heaved across the line, only to disturb air molecules.
18.3 N Smith to W O'Rourke
1b THEY STEAL A BYE! O'Rourke stayed deep in the crease and swished across the line. No connection but they manage to run through.
